Opinions please
My tyrant computer teacher usually has temper tantrums over the smallest things.... like students asking questions about the work they're doing.
Anyway, here's the problem I have: Today we printed up a spreadsheet, and he had instructed us to take it home and have it signed. I didn't hear him. About 30 minutes later, I ask him "Mr.Healey you wanted these signed and returned by next class, correct?" He gives me his usual response, "THAT'S A STUPID QUESTION." "Well, we need it by next class?" I ask again "YEAH, STOP ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS" he said again "What?" I asked, just amazed by his response. "YOU KNOW WHAT, YOU ASK THESE QUESTIONS EVERY CLASS. THAT MAKES YOU A MORON." "I'm sorry what?" "EVERY CLASS YOU ASK ME THESE QUESTIONS TO GET A RISE OUT ME!" He yelled at the top of his lungs. By this point he is holding a chair over his head.... like he's ready to throw at me from across the room. "I'm sorry what are you talking about?" I asked, even more confused "THAT'S EXACTLY WHY I SAID IT, YOU'RE A MORON." "Mr.Healey, I really don't appreciate you talking to me like that." He drops the chair, and puts his hands on his head, and yells "STOP IT!" at me. There's only 5 minutes left of class, so I log off the pc and go wait by the doorway to leave class. I decide that I'll stay and attempt to talk to him to clear up this mess. As I'm waiting there, while everyone leaves, and he walks over and yells "JUST GET OUT!" "About earlier y-" I managed to say before he yells, "NO, YOU DESERVED THAT; YOU HAD IT COMING" I walk out the class room feeling really on edge. Some computer teacher, somewhere in his 40s had called me a moron, revealed to the whole class that I was close to failure (when I'm not), and was brandishing a chair over his head, like he was ready to throw it. I'm walking down the hall thinking "Yeah, I'm reporting this s*** to the dean." I walk into the cafeteria and see the dean, Brother Paul, it seems he had lunch duty. So, I ask him "Could I speak with you after lunch?" "Sure." So, I finish my lunch 20 mins later, and approach Brother Paul. "What's the problem?" "Well earlier today, Mr.Healey had flown off the handle when I asked him a question in regards to the work." I said. "I see. Continue" He said. He seemed interested. "Well, here's the issue. During his tantrum he insulted me; calling me a moron not once but twice." "Hmm." He said wanting me to finish. "While he was yelling he had brandished a chair, and was holding it over his head, like he was going to throw it." I said making ridiculous hand motions. I'm sure I looked like an idiot to anyone who was walking by. "Hmm. Well, we could have a meeting today or even Monday." He said. I knew that was the end of the convo. "Thanks, Brother Paul." I said walking off. I wasn't called down for this meeting today, so it's definately monday. tl;dr: Crazy computer teacher called me a moron twice, lied about my grade in front of the whole class, and was holding a chair over his head, like he was ready to throw it. I would like at the very least for him to get suspended. Spelling and grammar probably suck, so don't get on me about it too much. Re: Need advice, guys
That person shouldn't be teaching with a temper like that.
Anyway, what was the advice you wanted again?

Re: Opinions please
Probably has a personal problem within his family and is insecure about it. Or he's a douchebag.

Re: Opinions please
he shouldnt have a temper like that, but then again, you SHOULD just listen in class, by the sound of it, he got the temper from the amount of times you dont listen and ask him things.

Re: Opinions please
get your fellow classmates who saw this incident to report it as well. that teacher should be fired or at least suspended and have this incident recorded.

Re: Opinions please
Okay but why is it so hard for the teacher to merely just say 'Yes. I want it signed.' and let that be the end of it? This guy took things WAY out of proportion and caused an unnecessary and totally avoidable conflict. If this has happened multiple times then he should definitely receive some sort of punishment.

Re: Opinions please
is he usually like that or could it have been an off day for him? you never know what may be happening in his personal life that may be making him a little mentally unstable right now.
on the other hand, there is absolutely no reason for him to be acting that way to anyone, especially students. you did a good thing by reporting it, and as coraleaterlinda said, try to get some of the classmates to report him too. perhaps it will sink in to the dean that it was a serious situation. |

Honestly, when I talked to that dean at lunch yesterday, it really seemed like he didn't give a damn. So, first thing Monday morning I'm going down to the assistant principal, and discussing this with her. Maybe it will mean something to her if a faculty member is shouts at a student at the top of his lungs, makes personal attacks, and brandishes a chair. Any advice before I go? Re: Opinions please
Sounds like you might wanna get that crackhead drug tested, in all honesty. Anyone THAT irritable either has to be on something, or trying to come off something, and if you have association would drugs, you shouldnt be in the education system, period.
And if drugs aren't involved, then.. Well then he should just be kicked in the balls. Take me to your school, I'll gladly do it.
