What, if anything, do you owe your kids?
And what is considered privilege?

Enough knowledge to be able to make their own intelligent decisions, and a healthy lifestyle until prompted to do so themselves.

Explain, are you asking what I plan to hand down to my kids or if I plan on taking care of 'em? o.o

Imo, once you take on the responsibility of bringing a life into the world, you've taken on the responsibility of ensuring that they grow up well-equipped and prepared to support themselves in life. Be that knowledge, advice, quality of life, etc etc.
I really wish I wasn't about to head out the door to class, this thread might have potential.

You choose whether you owe your kids something.
You could just ignore them like a lot of parents do, and give them distractions. |

I feel like a lot of us aren't qualified to answer this question...

This pretty much sums it up, minus one point I think children need. Some sort of "love." I dislike the word, so damn vague, but I think you all get the point. Your children need to know you care about them, but don't necessarily trust them to always make the right decisions, and that you will punish them for doing something that's wrong.

You should recognize that they are human and treat them accordingly, and attend to their basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing and medical. Anything else is technically going to be supererogatory.

Whatever the legal system says we owe them. Which can be, like, your whole livelihood if they're seriously disabled.
