Have there been any team tournaments?
I don't mean teams like Pony, Pokemon, and Blaze. I mean like as in doubles; a team of two.
Really, it wouldn't be any different from previous tournaments. You just ask someone to be your partner, and if they say yes than their could be some sort of sign up sheet where you fill in your name and then your partner's name. Your partner would have to do the same. Your scores for each song would be combined, so it would have to be raw scoring. So, the only thing that would be different in this tournament than the last tournament is that you depend solely on your partner, so it would be wise to choose someone that wants to win just as bad as you do. Just throwing this out there; I'm sure someone thought of this, though.

Re: Have there been any team tournaments?
Rebirth thought of that idea some time ago, he hosted a doubles tournament here.
Thing is that they're not going to have teams with two D7 players of course haha; it's usually 2 D5-D6 players or 1 D7 player and a D4 player in one team. |

Re: Have there been any team tournaments?
That's usually the issue with team tournaments like that, one person ends up not submitting for a team and the whole tourney structure goes down. And usually the host ends up not knowing what to do in that case to account for non submissions. Although, while writing this post, I just had an epiphany of a tourney structure that would be able to account for non submitters quite nicely, if I can work out the details and have the time for it, ill host it

Re: Have there been any team tournaments?
There have been both teams tournaments (a team would have one player each division) and partner tournaments (the pairing like you mentioned) They've never been official events but users have done them a few times over the years. They almost never work out because someone ends up not submitting a lot of the time.
