Fuck my hand hurts x.x Trying to figure out a lot of the tricks in Super Metroid and man is it a lot harder than I thought it would be for some of them. Spent like 30 minutes trying to mockball out of the super missile powerup room and didn't get it once =/ Kept getting really close though...I dunno how Zoast does all that crazy stuff so well. Looking forward to the race on Friday for sure

Mockballing isn't hard once you understand how it works:

you MUST be holding jump as you land (soft morph) or else it won't work. of course to morph you have to press down twice, but you can press the first input down at any time.

for early supers you'll see a short hop mockball and that's done by jumping to desired height, letting go, then -repressing- because remember, you have to be holding jump for mockball to work at all. short hop mockballing isn't necessary to get early supers of course, but landing sooner is quicker and puts the wavers in a good spot etc technical fast shit.

I had this same problem before I knew how damage boosting worked...gotta have jump held or it won't work >_<. Next "trick" for me to learn is either learning how to X-factor Phantoon or short charging so I can shave a lot of time off my Draygon fight (last 4 mins as of now). I can't decide what I should learn first tho

Oh I know how to do it. I can get into the super missile room fine. Getting back out is MUCH harder since you have to react in an instant of jumping out of the door from the reserve tank to get under the pillars on the way back. That's where I got stuck. Don't have the reaction time for it I guess.

So you're learning 100%? If all else fails, after the reserve tank room you can just go up top and drop through the crumble blocks under the super missle expansion. I suggest learning Any% first though...imo it's a lot easier to get into the game that way.

Yeah, based off of Zoast's run from SGDQ. That's what made me want to try it haha. I'll probably come back to that trick later and move on to something else.
