Why do you like trap?

That's not an attack on your song, or preferences, I'm genuinely curious.


As for the song, I don't really know how trap is even supposed to work, but I like how its not just a bass kick and hi-hats like most of the other trap.

I've always been a fan of Hip Hop, and the other half of uAnimals has been an even bigger fan of Hip Hop. I've always liked the Top 40 crap, but he's been a huge fan of Hip Hop on a serious level. So Dubstep has always been cool because of the tempo and somewhat roots to Hip Hop.

Now with Trap, and incorporating more Hip Hop elements, and the swag and pull and flow of Trap, we're having a lot of fun with it.

We also enjoy layering a lot of elements in our music, so it's cool to break the mold of most 'Trap' music and have more elements involved, and almost borderline Dubstep.

We recently just finished an Official Trap Remix for 2 Chainz, and are super excited for that to drop in the coming week too

I was gonna say. When I think of "hip hop" I think of people/groups like A Tribe Called Quest, etc.. I'd put that more in glitch hop's court than trap's.

Either way. I love broken beats. And I love bass.

Trap's been a fun genre to toy with as of late

Any time I ever try and produce Trap it turns into this weird glitchy melodic thing that makes the "trap kick" sound like a sub bass pad and the hi-hats just sound all out of place.

That's kinda what i hate about trap lol. Almost can't be melodic
Just has to be 808 and stupid synth chirps and about 18882384991 FX

I was thinking about your track Patrick, and I think that it would sound nice if you were to layer your sub kick with something maybe a little more punchy? I mean, I know that's not really trap's style but I think it would compliment your softish bass synth a lot better than it does now. -shrugs-
