13.8% gain overall, starting from last year. Depends on your bank. Probably like 1% assuming you have 125k or something. Rates are low. Move your liquid into something else. Make your money make money.

Re: [serious]ask me about personal finance
Yea, if I didn't have zero living expenses other than food / gas it would be a different story. I think I can hold out until the 15th when I'll get a paycheck for $1100. Replacing these 10 year old monitors, one of which was broken, was probably the most pressing issue at the moment.

This one? You can start anytime, but there's incentives to start with at least 2-5k (free trades, etc.)

Re: [serious]ask me about personal finance
i'm a completely naive 20 year old maths geek with zero experience in business or anything and i like the concept of bitcoins for absolutely no reason except that the name sounds cool. should i get one now or wait for them to crash. i'm regretting not getting into them when i heard about them last week and they were at like 130 quid, now they're like 210

Re: [serious]ask me about personal finance
Buy a ps4 or a new pc, it's a better investment (serious). Unless you're mining or buying 10k worth of BTC, it's not worth it. Esp when it just literally barely hot all time highs
Dem subprime car loans tho

Re: [serious]ask me about personal finance
I remember when my buddy bought a few mobos and graphics cards and I thought he was nuts. It's all about the ASICs now, though.

Re: [serious]ask me about personal finance
I kind of feel like building a mining rig. I wonder what the most cost effective parts would be.

Re: [serious]ask me about personal finance
But you could say that about any kind of investment that you weren't able to take advantage of.
