Played a irl poker tourney with a friend today. 3000 starting chip 25/50 blind 20 min blind turbo :/ (Not a fan of this tourney. Kinda turns into a shove fest) 84 person 30 dollars with 4 available rebuys/add ons for the first hour.

My friend ended up winning the entire thing and made a cool 1.9k. He got so ridiculously lucky at final table. He got it all in against AA and 88 with AQ in the final table with like 6 players left flop he hits a Q and river he hits the two outter. Next all in he gets it in with 66 and guy calls with 79. 7 on flop turn is blank. He calls for his one time and hits a 6 on river. He makes it to heads up and is a 4 to 1 dog. First hand they go all in. He has Q 10 against A rag. Spikes Q on flop and it holds. Very next hand they get it all in again. He has Q 10 again. Blank flop. Blank turn. 10 river. I went crazy. It was disgusting. Not like he can really do anything though. Final table is a definite crap shoot with turbo blinds.

Oh and I made final table with a cool 7th place finish. Still nice. I prefer cash game play but was still fun.

Edit: I usually don't like to publicize shit like this but it was just so epic that he ended up winning :P

I can still use Pokerstars.net for home games. However due to USA bs laws it has to be all play money unfortunately.

Tourney scheduled for 5PM EST today. Lets get back into this.

Seems kind of odd to make a living on something that's a zero-sum game and not a generator of wealth ?_?

Sounds fun. Will look into the times.

I haven't touched cash poker since the issues with online poker arose. I know that I'm Canadian, but still. I've been incredibly wary of making deposits since then =/

If you think you might participate in this let me know what times work for you and I can def. create a regular schedule over time.

Right now there is no one for the 5 pm EST tourney. Hope it changes!

We have a turbo tournament here. It's called Poor Man's Poker. $10 to get $5 dealer add-on and Unlimited rebuys for the first hour. Everyone starts with $1000 chips (unless you get the add-on then you get $1500) Blinds go up every 15 minutes and it starts at $25/$50. Now this is a shove fest. It can be fun after the first hour but for the first, it gets pretty stupid. Usually the first prize does get $500-$600 so it's not too bad for 3-4 hours of work :P

I've sent 4 messages or so in the last couple days for heads ups about tourneys. Now that I just made a three day schedule there is no need for any until Fri. And like I said just request it and I can take your name off the pm list.

How 2 hold em.

Video I'm good at (esp. if it's guess color for double), 5 card draw I'm 50-50, but god do I suck at hold em.

This will be good to play and learn then considering it's play money and some of the players have some experience. And I can schedule other types of games as well.

I'll play the early-evening game tomorrow. Hopefully I don't get trashed like my last game -- the attempt at a super-tight/super-aggressive experiment did not work well.
