Re: Rock Band. More Awesome.
wait a second
Do they do open hihat hits on a different pad than closed hihat hits as a standard thing? Because that is ****ing stupid. If you don't want to include a foot pedal for hihat, you shouldn't try to be ****ing relevant with open/close hats. But really, once I get my 3rd cymbal, I don't want to be going to town on my "hihat", then have to alternate to my "ride" because the drummer in the song played a single note with the hat open then immediately closed it again.

yup
hi-hat pedal only is functional for reeldrum use, not RB.

Re: Rock Band. More Awesome.
huh
I thought the hardware for RB2 on 360 wasn't coming out until everything dropped on the other systems. First the special bass, then the premium drums... but I just picked up one of the standard guitars at Best Buy. Should be nice to be able to play guitar without being forced to activate starpower by using the "back" button. Quote:
But then again, multiple sensors on the rims as well as the heads would make for more fun I think, even if it's not applicable in most songs (or even any current ones). Although... before that, I'd like to see them make backup vocals possible. I dunno... a long time ago I posted on their forums saying there should be high-end guitars and drum kits available, so maybe if I post there and tell them to include hihat pedal, rim sensors, and backup vocals, maybe they'll do it in the next one

wait what
Are you ****ting me? That makes no ****ing sense. Blue pad is right side top tom and ride cymbal. It also is reasonable for anything which would make sense to exist in the area of the third quarter of the set. But a snare rimshot? Incidentally, I don't recall ever noticing a rimshot before. Can you identify a specific song, preferably one which is not DLC.

Re: Rock Band. More Awesome.
I think they usually chart quiet rimshots as just red, but louder ones as red+blue (I guess to differentiate from hihat+snare hits).

Re: Rock Band. More Awesome.
so uh
I opened up my new guitar And the ****ing finish is messed up. What should I do? I almost want to just go up to Best Buy, because I'm pretty sure I could say "look at this ****, I don't want to have to wait ****ing weeks to get this **** taken care of by harmonix, get me new guitar right now", but I distinctly recall turning down the offer for a replacement plan from Best Buy. And it seems to just be a lamination problem-- I haven't tried playing with it, but I am sure the error here is purely cosmetic. For the curious, there are what appear to be "bubbles" in the sunburst gradient near a few points where the detail meets the edge of the strum bar and other features.

Re: Rock Band. More Awesome.
I might be able to pull off the bitch and complain ideal online, but it's a bit tougher for me in the real world. Maybe I'll call them and ask if they'll be willing to replace it, and if I'm not able to get them to do it, I'll take it up with Harmonix.

My drums are barely clinging to life. ;_;
Green pad and red pad barely respond at all, yellow and blue are now iffy. This is all with sock mod, which worked wonders for a while. The worst thing is I can't send away for new ones because the sending and receiving address is different (I'm in university).

Yesterday it took me 9 STRAIGHT HOURS to unlock Endless Setlist 2...and today it took me 7 hours to BEAT Endless Setlist 2. I feel somewhat accomplished. 5 starred every song no problem, 250/250 stars.
EDIT: Got bored so I did vocal endless setlist as well, whee!

Re: Rock Band. More Awesome.
The Ion drumrocker is AWESOME. I just came home and my dad was like, jake there was a robbery downstairs! I ran down there and saw the ion drum kit box lol.

Re: Rock Band. More Awesome.
I should have put a little more thought into this whole Ion kit business.
I've been trying to run things down, and even with my room being fully worked over, fully cleaned out, and fully good-to-go, I got no room for this thing. Best course of action would be to keep it tucked in a corner and pull it out whenever I'm going to play. It's a real shame, because I was hoping to have overcome this sort of thing when I finally am able to consider my room fully cleaned. But yeah, the point I'm trying to make is that this thing takes up a lot more room than the basic kit does.
