Oi. Whoever said "Stats isn't real math," or "Calculus is far harder than Stats" obviously hasn't taken Stats. >O.O<
I hear stat is pretty easy and that's saying something too because the guy was going crazy over his AB calc test and part of it involved Euler's formula, a concept with applications even I can grasp to a point.

I'm taking AP Microeconomics next year and AP Music Theory in 11th grade. I'm pretty stoked for the AP exams, especially AP Music Theory which I expect no less than a 5 on.

Who is this guy again, I forget? Or was he not mentioned earlier?

LOL, AP Micro. AP Music Theory, though, I'm taking that next year!! Along with AP Computer Science, yup. AP Theory should be a breeze, I have an excellent grasp of the theory side on music. I mainly wanna take it because I wanna learn how to compose better. Nothing along the lines of Mozart's Requiem quite yet, but enough to get the beautiful melodies and harmonies and rhythms and chords et al. out of my head and into actual music, you know what I mean?

Took my AP Stats test on on Tuesday. Wasn't TOO terrible, actually. I might've actually gotten a 4. My God, I will probably shart myself if I do...

Anyway, AP Lit is over, so I'm done caring. There's Physics C, Psych, and Macro left, which should be fine.

Sight-sing? ****, I thought you just had to transcribe audio recordings into sheet music.

And yeah I heard the class was hard, but then again some people thought music theory I was kinda hard and I got an A+ in it without any music background whatsoever beforehand. I'm also taking it junior year so I assumed (and still do) that I'll be able to ace the class by then.

Oh I was being vague.

Some guy in my school had an AP stat test and a AB Calc test on the same day and he was freaking out over the Calc test.

Good. I was being overly wordy there, again. In short, get the music up in my head into music that other people, too, can hear. Actually make the music. Does that make sense?

Neither should be too hard for me though, honestly, and I really hate sounding like I'm bragging... I can't exactly help that I've loved singing all my life, and I'm in our school's top choir, if that means anything, so I'm covered in any singing of notes and whatnot. For transcription, ....well, I have perfect pitch. I'd bet good money it probably stems from my OCD, but not the point. As for sight-singing and just playing/singing notes/rhythms on the spot....my choir director had no problem saying in front of several seniors in my choir that I had gotten 100% on our 1st semester final-cum-audition for next year. Even I was surprised, because there's a freaking lot to that whole test-audition process--videotaped vocal sight-reading, triads (Major, Minor, Diminished & Augmented) and scales (Major, Minor, Harmonic & Melodic), solfege, singing prepared music, etc. It's hard for most people to be able to absorb all of this information as well as being able to sing it all correctly. I don't remember if I heard if we need to know solfege or not...but I'm-a gonna be prepared.");

Oh, they offer non-AP Music Theory at your school? Lucky. Some people probably shy away from AP Theory at my school because of the "AP" tacked onto the front of the course title.

Ah, that makes sense. I would be too, honestly. Though one of the girls I usually sit next to in my Stats class is in both AP Stats and AP Calculus BC in her Senior year, yet she seemed to be equally worried/concerned with both of them; at times, it seemed like she worried over Stats more. Weird...I would definitely be worrying over Calc more, even AB, for sure, if I was in her shoes. It seems like such an absurdly massive subject at times, it's crazy.

The Statistics Ap test was a lot harder than I thought it to be; well at least the free response. I did not get the last question about inference on residuals =/. None of the Ap test's are easy and if Stats is the easiest one, since I haven't taken my next one yet, the others must be a lot harder.

English this Wednesday =D. Hoping for a 3. Can't tell difference between metonymy and synecdoche to save my life D:

At least I'm asian. Thar's an advantage =D

Phys and Calc next year; along with Gov and Econ and Eng Lang or Lit whichever

I'm in the same boat as you buddy. I am taking an AP English test in a few days. I guess the good news is about me is that if I do horrible, I didn't waste any money. The state paid for the tests. But still I hope I do well so I don't have to take it over. I wish you luck!

Aw, that's no fair. We have to pay for our AP exams, and my district requires us to pay it, too. I suppose it makes sense, since if you're going to take an AP course, you should have to take the AP test, as well. And plus, it's more incentive to do good in the class: if you do bad on the AP test, then there was really not much point to taking the AP class in the first place, then, right?

I would like to congratulate myself for passing the most strenuous week I have ever faced, in school, in my life. I would also like to congratulate myself on being able to identify rhetorical strategies and fully synthesize documents on advertising into one concise paragraph. This conclude my ranting. GL all

Personally, I don't get what's the point of taking AP classes. They claim it's "harder" by is it really? It sounds more like it's "more annoying." My point being that you don't actualy learn more, you just do more work, especially busy work. I did indenpendent studies for highschool and graduated at age 15.

I spent two years at community college (Getting my GE's) and then transfered over to a private university (which is where I am now.) I took Stat, Calc 20A-20C and differential equations (co requiste of 20C) at community college (equivalent of AB, BC, CD) For me, the exams were very easy for me (math just clicks.) The same applies to my chemistry courses in which I took 1A-1B plus organic chem 12A+12B. Highschools don't even offer Chemistry 1A because it is far to advanced, the AP offers the equivalent of Chem 2. I had friend who took Chem 2 at community college and when he visited his friends at our our "old highschool" (it was a college prep highschool that started from 8th grade, we both switched into independent studies for ninth because we realized this "advanced college prep" school was full of it.) he was shocked. The ones in AP chem were struggling over problems that he learned in the first couple of weeks at college. They were moaning and whining while showing them the tedious amount of paperwork they did over the year; but at college, homework is no where NEAR a big deal; it's all about tests there. Essentially, they tediously did busy work while lingering onto a topic (highschool classes are one year. Community college classes are 1 semster) while my buddy was actually learning something.

We were both tired of people boasting how much more "advanced" their classes were. It truly sickened us. To this date I still don't understand the realy hype over AP classes. I personally promote independent studies because it is a faster, cheaper, and IMO a better educational experience. And the great part about it is, you will have time to meet friends and, this was big for me, actively engage in sports.

Nut I would still like someone to explain the hype over AP classes.

EDIT: Obviosuly, I took other classes at community college; however, listing them all wouldn't add to me point
