Default Jump stream

Okay, I just can't figure this out. When it comes to Jump Stream, I completely suck. I mean, fast 16ths don't bug me, but jump stream totally ****s me over. Anyone have any suggestions to help me out?

Some elaboration on spread would do me good.

I mostly play Stepmania, so I'm not all term savvy.

Practice and play spread. Playing spread, after you get better at it, you can combo jump stream like it's nothing.

Edit: Spread uses 4 fingers, 4 keys.

I play spread, but jumpstream bugs me too.

Playing spread basically playing with 4 fingers. Two from each hand.

Two from each hand eh? Hmmm, sounds reasonable, but yeah, would take some practice. I'd bet 16ths would be **** me over when I'm first getting used to it. :P

Thanks for the info guys!

Jump stream is just more advanced pattern that takes a bit longer to get the hang of. That is all there is to it. Also there is the running men, which is also hard.

I can't play spread because my left hand doesn't go as fast as my right so with 16ths I'm screwed.

yes spread makes jumpstream much easier but it will take a little getting used to so good luck and just so you no index patterns are herder for spread so you might try practicing those patterns along with the jumpstreams.

How about for once instead of telling a person to change their playing style, you actually give them decent advice? That's directed to all you spread-ites :P

To the op: Jump streams are always hard to get used to and the only real advice I can give you is this: Play slower songs that have decent usage of jump streams (Straight to Video comes to mind) and work your way up through faster songs (Tribal Revival is great for jumpstreams, although DEFINITELY not for beginners) and you'll eventually learn the patterns. That's all I can really say, just practice lol.

Try stepmania.

The best jumpstream simfile for me IMO is hi19hi19's Destiny. That's like a massive Jumpstream song :O

You can go slowly by reducing the rates then going normal rates

Let me guess, so are one hand trills and hands, even though tons of people can do them?

My keyboard doesn't register hands, so they would be impossible.

Haha, my keyboard can handle almost anything. Almost. I tried 2 player with my friend on SM once, and he mashed the whole time. 4 key mashing = only 1 key at a time for me. Obviously, we both failed.

jump stream is quarter and eighth notes, simple. your problem is jump runs. the only real solution is practice, play etude to dragon over and over and over.
