Default Paranormal Activity 2 ?

So i saw the first one and I've over heard quite a handful of people say the second one was way better.

Has anyone seen it yet?
Is anyone planning on going?
or just no?

It's basically like the first one, just a step up on the scary scale. If you find the desire to see it, then go ahead.

I really liked the first one because that's what a scary movie SHOULD be like. Modern horrors ****ing blow cock harder than a swiss brand, german whore.

I am gonna see this tomorrow, my family says it was awesome so based on how the first one was and how everyone tells me how good the second one is, I'm pretty excited to see it

I was not scared in the slightest by the original Paranormal Activity, so I'm extremely hesitant about paying money to see the second. I'd like to say that I'm an unbiased critic when it comes to movies, but when it comes to horror, I don't scare easily/react to jump scares. Looks like this movie does rely on jump scares, as far as I can judge from the trailer, so I might steer clear.

Better than the first but still too predictable and flat. Standard cheap physical gimmick scares. It's really boring. The standard for scary movies nowadays is depressingly low.

This could apply to almost any movie or television show.

Oh, I meant the first sentence for a lot of sequels of movies. There are good ones, but typically they repeat what they did last time with a slight change in the theme.

This is exactly why I try and stick with foreign horror movies, anyone else notice that their movies are much more thought out and more disturbing rather than quick frights from a jump scare or a gory mutilation in the most disgusting way possible just because they can.

Films like Martyrs, À l'intérieur, Irréversible, and Kansen I'll bet are one hundred times better than Paranormal Activity 2 (which should not even exist, mind you...).

This movie is a prequel to the first one, which is pretty cool. I seen it yesterday, you know the ****'s coming because just like the first one, everytime the demon is near it mkaes that loud rumble that gets louder and louder so you know somethings coming but it still scares me.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to "get" this on DvD and watch it then.
Too iffy to spend $10 on it in theaters.

first one wasn't scary, neither is this one, I was bored the entire movie. Had a girl sitting a few seats away almost crying, so I laughed at her the entire movie.

Paranormal Activity is frightening if you're afraid of people sleeping. That pretty much sums up my view on it.

Proper pacing is almost nonexistent, the only potentially well-done scene was at the end of the movie (and in the trailer, for crying out loud), and I never once felt like I had any reason to feel sympathetic towards the characters. Tension never felt all there since nothing ever happened.

I'm still sticking to foreign horror, but I wish Hollywood horror has some sense of proper movie direction nowadays. Paranormal Activity was a boring, interminably-paced mess, and the second one definitely appears to be more of the same. Let Me In isn't even a horror film, to the best of my knowledge, unless they drastically changed it from Let the Right One In; while I'm not happy about the fact that Americans are remaking yet another foreign 'horror' movie, the fact that it's already an amazing (if slow-paced) film and that we're finally seeing a film delve into traditional vampire lore come out of Hollywood got me a tad excited. My Soul To Take is the one American horror movie I've been legitimately excited for, even if my expectations are low, mostly because Wes Craven's name is on it. However, it was dull, formulaic, and just downright unenjoyable. I am disappoint, Mr. Craven. Devil was just...entertaining. Predictable yet entertaining, even if they don't spend enough time in the elevator. Saw 3D looks to be absolute ****, and I hope they stay true to their word that this is the last in the series; whoever keeps going out to see the new Saw movie every year is a part of the problem.

tl;dr: American horror, WTF? Start being decent again outside of campy horror. Drag Me To Hell was wonderful and all, but come on.
