Squeesfan's AMA (a.k.a ask a grumpy british guy anything)
Very danger etc. Expecting no replies as I was never really that involved in this community, more ODI.

Since I never got an answer from tsutter:
Favorite ODI thread? Or if you don't remember a single thread in particular, favorite event/incident? |

Either We know Glove, now he is arrest, pale wrecking hayden in church_pk's music thread about his songs, or that one guy who got mad about someone posting a picture of him so (I think) tsutter changed everyone's avatar to that guys face photoshopped with a party hat.

Re: Squeesfan's AMA (a.k.a ask a grumpy british guy anything)
You're playing poker with a tiger, an ostrich, a mosquito, and an antelope. You're holding Ad Js and the flop is 3s Qs 6h. The tiger is making silly faces at the antelope and bets the minimum. The ostrich and mosquito both instantly fold. The antelope makes a minimum raise while making silly faces back at the tiger. The two of them continue having a silly face making contest for half a minute. Do you fold, call, raise, or run screaming?
If "bananana" was a word, what would it mean? What is your favourite method of procrastination? I've visited Birmingham only once - it was in 2007, for about five days. I don't remember much about the place except that it had crappy phone signal everywhere, and that the highlight of my experience as a tourist was going to McDonald's. What's it like living there?

Re: Squeesfan's AMA (a.k.a ask a grumpy british guy anything)
Contemplate the implications of playing poker with animals before getting up, running away, opening the door, get on the floor, everybody do the dinosaur.
It would mean the express dislike of words with repetitive letter patterns. Example: 'Bert was slowly becoming more disinterested with his newspaper; all his eyes could see was tabloid journalism riddles with passages that evoked feelings of bananana.'. Birmingham city centre is fairly nice, although most of the places that surround it are a complete dump. Where I lived was ok. I should really update my location, I moved to Colchester, Essex 6 years ago!

1. Would you rather see Avatar in a theatre, or on Blu-Ray? And why?
2. What is your opinion of the NHS and the UK Independence Party? 3. Did you hear about the farmers who set up a 1GBit fibre network? |

A2P: You are better than me!
ygugsa295: 1. Saw it in the theatre on a huge screen as it's only wortyh watching for impressive effects, not as an actual story. 2. NHS rules from a personal experience. I had some weird ass tumour in my leg over a decade ago and they had to get some super secret dutch doctor ninja to fly in as he was the only specialist or some shit. My family would never have been able to afford that normally. Also my dad has had to have specialist medical stuff since he was 17 and would have cost a ridiculous amount of money (he's 58 now). Same goes with my mum and brother - basically we're not the luckiest of families when it comes to rare shit going wrong in our bodies. As a whole, the NHS is alright but flawed. Too many nurses not giving a shit that ruins the rep of all those that work hard. 3. No

Re: Squeesfan's AMA (a.k.a ask a grumpy british guy anything)
Because it's a style I feel is greatly underplayed, especially getting proficient at spread friendly songs. It's really fun trying to learn awkward bursts or patterns that easy as pie spread. Unfortunately now I don't really have the kb for it and most index players that are still around only focus on stream speed If there had been more people playing when I was getting crazy shit like red sign pass, scarhand pass, almost there edit a, etc I think I would have never quit. It's kinda a downer when you get really good score but no-one can appreciate them because they don't play that style. I hit all my own personal goals (other than a couple of not that bothered stuff) so would have only carried on at that level of play if there had been others doing it as well, haha.

Re: Squeesfan's AMA (a.k.a ask a grumpy british guy anything)
the best thing EVER would be if we could make a USB controller for index that's basically 4 large pop'n buttons spread out in a quasi-WASD layout. this would not only make index WAY more impressive to watch on video, but triples/quads wouldn't be infuriating.

Wouldn't that make stream/js a bitch though?

Re: Squeesfan's AMA (a.k.a ask a grumpy british guy anything)
I am not sure if you've played on pop'n setups before but you can hit the extreme edge of the button and still register it; it's also very easy to slide across buttons compared to on keyboard.
It might actually make js easier. Stream would be about the same. |

Re: Squeesfan's AMA (a.k.a ask a grumpy british guy anything)
I was introduced to stepmania through DDR. In the UK it was pretty hard to find a decent machine as most were old Dancing Stage Euromix with terrible pads, so one day my friend told me about stepmania and that I could then download all the American editions from DDRUK and play at home. This was mid 2005. Eventually I messed around playing one handed and started playing online late 2005. Someone mentioned FFR on SMO and so i Joined just after the new year in 2006 and went from there. I was never that active in the community and only started really posting on ODI after someone called my index scores out as BS as I had odd miss to pa ratios (due to not being that great at streams but good at awkwared patterns) so I made a couple of vids and it was all good from there. I miss ODI sometimes
