Yes, that seems more like a glitch than anything. The lack of a blurb on it only seems to reiterate this fact.

Doesn't appear to be much of a big deal though, since it isn't really all that cool or special. Will it see use? Yes. Will it have a large effect on how item-using characters are played competitively? No. It just improves the item game in general, by a noticeable, but not particularly large, amount.

It means he has 2 jumps like yoshi except worse. Yoshis jumps are part of why he is so bad in melee.

Couldn't you throw a Pikmin to knock them off the ledge?

You can, but the angle of the Pikmin throw is such that it could be difficult to impossible to recover afterwards, unless you can time the throw from a good distance away.

Ooh, looks fun. Haven't seen so much on this latest stage. Cool to see that conventional KOs don't work as well.

Maybe brawl will be worse than melee when it comes to glitches.

Nothing game-breaking though.

I guess to stop Snake from recovering, you'll have to grab his recovery thing in midair.

Not if he kills himself... like he did in that video.

ps sorry i dont pay good attention, but is "tech" some kind of euphemism for "glitch abuse"?

I'm not getting into this, other than saying anyone who think throwing grenades at oneself to prolong a match is pretty ****ing retarded. If you were knocked off the stage, chances are you're already over 70% already, so a grenade isn't going to help you much thar. And I can't see a practical use for that infinite jump glitch with Bowser. Not only that, but anyone you use that against would call foul. Immediately.

technique: "A pattern of movement that is technically appropriate for a particular skill and is an integral part, but not the whole part of that skill."

glitches: "In video games, a glitch is a term used by players to indicate a programming error which results in behavior not intended by the programmers. ... The practice of exploiting glitches in video games is known as 'glitching.'"

Dictionaries already defined the term, bro. Catch up on the times.

In REAL news, this game, despite its previous incarnation being one of the lesser-selling games in Japan on the gamecube, has already sold one million copies, making it the fastest-selling game on the Wii. How about them apples?

How is living retarded? lol!

Also how would you know if these are intended by the programmers? You don't and never will. Get with reality.

Oh yeah I can see Sakurai going "hey we should make it so only one character can jump forever that sounds cool right? we just won't tell anyone shhhh"

The grenade thing isn't a glitch. It's actually legitimate. It's just stupid. I can't imagine a situation where flying up with the camera would not save you, yet a grenade dropped at an opportune time would. If you were sent flying so far off the stage that your up+b wouldn't get you back up, you'd die from the explosion of the grenade.

BECAUSE IT'S A GRENADE.

the grenade is so you can UP B AGAIN. The only way you can die is if you are knocked out or **** up the grenade thing. If you are saying that living is useless then this is one game you won't be good at, sorry.

...

Did you even watch the video?

DO YOU KNOW WHAT A GRENADE IS.

"A grenade is an incendiary device capable of expelling shrapnel at thousands of feet per second."

Suffice to say, it's a miniature BOMB.

Link has bombs. Link's in Melee. Go turn it on, pluck out a bomb, and throw it at yourself. See if you cause any damage. See if it moves you.

Like I said before. If you were knocked off the stage at 70% or more and dropped a GRENADE on yourself, the explosion from the grenade is going to kill you more often than not.

And not only that, each explosion is nicking off 20%+ MORE. So you have even less chance of doing anything worthwhile if you do happen to catch a lucky explosion from a pretty random source like a grenade and land back on stage.
