I did the math and there are no diminished returns on AR. I don't think it matters at all how much of which you have, only the relative values you're able to get off gear. Like, if your health is 100k and you have 300 AR, you have 50% mitigation. EHP = 200k, so the bonus per AR is 333.3 If you have 900 AR, you have 400k EHP, which is also exactly 333.3 bonus per AR. I don't think it matters and I don't think there are any diminished returns. If anything, gear wise AR always seems to be better than +Armor on most pieces, since the relative effective bonus per AR is higher than for Armor on most +armor rolls on most items. Armor would have to roll over 450 to be more useful than your typical 90-100 AR rolls, and I don't see it rolling high on many items. An armor roll of +500 or higher though is definitely worth taking though as that can't really be beaten in terms of mitigation.

You are correct in that there aren't diminishing returns on stacking DR. This is because, just using example numbers, +1% damage reduction at 50% damage reduction is twice as good as +1% damage reduction at 0% damage reduction but also twice as hard to get. This is basically what you found. However there *are* diminishing returns on the marginal amount of DR provided by additional Armor and Resistance points. To use the above example, stacking a lot of one thing to get +1% damage reduction when you already have 50% from that stat is not as good as the +5% damage reduction you'd get if you put that item budget's worth of stats into the other stat that you have none of. Optimizing the multiplicative nature of armor and magic resist is where the old 10/1 rule came from, but there's a lot of factors that complicate that such as Energy Armor and the % bonus from Paragon and I honestly haven't even looked at item budgets to see if all res is still worth 1/10 of armor per point in the expansion. You also have to remember that Wizards and Witch Doctors get a TON of all res just from intelligence stacking. tl;dr use a spreadsheet and build what it says is optimal for EHP For me, that's almost always armor.

Thanks to the new difficulty system, you can actually have fun while leveling, as opposed to when the game launched and you literally had to beat the game twice before it got difficult enough to not be a complete waste of time. I have a chest tab full of low-level legendaries to use while I'm leveling new hardcore characters.

Re: Diablo 3
Picked up a sick magefist from Kadala today, combined with the fact I'm already rolling a mirrorball...need to try and gamble a cindercoat and pick up a few more pieces and might try a fire build.
CDR archon is too addicting though. Hell I only have like 35% CDR and it's already so much fun. Can't imagine being at Hi's gear level ;o Haven't gotten a god damn set piece in about 2 weeks though despite the fact I'm rolling in legendaries lately.

Re: Diablo 3
Just picked up my Zuni offhand And a SoJ from todays rifts.
I would love to use the SoJ on WD but I'm locked into Grandeur/Pox for rings, hopefully its good for Wiz if I roll the physical into cold or something, But it has no CC/CHD/AS, just int/regen/phys/elite. Permanent fetish army is A LOT cooler than I thought it would be. |

Re: Diablo 3
Blizzard will still lag your game for 5-10 seconds and wait until you die.

Re: Diablo 3
60/10 here and blizz still manage to fuck up.
at first i thought it was my video card, but then it would lagg in other games. I think its the worst idea they could ever have to force us to play online, whoever had that idea will burn in hell much longer than me. So...how did it go for you ?? Also, what do you mean by highspeed, personally i consider anything under google fiber a non-highspeed connection. Your thoughts ? |

Re: Diablo 3
Are you botting act 3? I see you on 24/7 lol
It won't freeze for as long, or teleport as far. But its certainly more frequent, especially with skills that involve a lot of movement. Very noticeable as a melee class, I couldn't really get into them as much as ranged with the exception of elemental cleave templar, back when that was somewhat popular. On the d3 front, very few drops today but 2 SoJs a new Jade harvesters shoulders (upgrade but not new piece still @2) with 3 max rolls (100 AR/15% life/15% Haunt damage) and that zuni offhand... The other WD in my clan that has been playing WD exclusively since RoS launch is very very angry at me heh. @Choof none whatsoever even when opening inventory? It seems like thats been a problem universally. I usually have to open inventory when entering a new rift floor so I don't lock up for 2-3 seconds when I need to switch nemesis. Re: Diablo 3
there's a console command to force a resync and I bound it to a mouse button, if that answers your question.
btw I kept getting DC'd last night, a couple of times in the middle of arcane frozen assholes. So not only do I get my bounties reset, I get to have a god damned heart attack.
