Re: At least 31 dead at Virginia Tech
"AT LEAST" MEANS THAT IS THE MINIMUM NUMBER DEAD.
Jesus Christ, it doesn't matter how many people died. NO ONE should have died. It should be just as shocking if the killer had stopped at however many people he shot at the dorm. |

Re: At least 31 dead at Virginia Tech
Why do these things always happen in the USA?
Here in the Netherlands these things never happen so often.... Only a short while ago, 1km from my home, someone wanted to steal something from a school with children from 4 to 11. A boy of 9 years old entered the classroom wich the man was stealing in, and he killed the boy with a knife. And 2 years ago 1 teacher was killed i think..... dunno with what weapon In the USA these things happen almost every year! Mostly with guns, cuz you can buy them for 'self protection'. Im not saying that i dont find this horrible, i think its horrible... but its just very clear that it mostly happens in the USA... sorry if im saying something wrong, im just a kid after all.... just wanted to share my opinion |

Re: At least 31 dead at Virginia Tech
it was totally the video games...go boycot them 0_o
seriously, i hate when ppl are like that if someone can mistake the gaming world for the real world...it's not the games fault, but their mind minds and complex and downright confusing but anyways back on subject... idno why things happen in the US so often and not so much in other places well i kno there's loads of reasons actually like most of the crazies move to the states cuz we have universal orlando and the teletubbies ... but the ease of getting these things...it's crazy just like how i felt when i lived in okinawa cigarettes in vending machines they're totally asking for it

Re: At least 31 dead at Virginia Tech
A few professors were killed. A particularly interesting story was a professor who blocked the door while the shooter was trying to get in, so that his students could escape out the windows. The guy shot through the door, and the professor was killed... but he saved his students.
On top of that, he was a Holocaust survivor. Wow... what a guy.

Re: At least 31 dead at Virginia Tech
I live in northern virginia and it was the scariest day of my life. I had to call numerous people to make sure they were ok and today my principle told my school that a girl i use to run XC with was killed in the shooting (RIP Leslie). I feel horrible for everyone that lost friends and loved ones this is truly an American Tragedy
Edit: this forum is for talking about the massacre and remembering the poor souls lost NOT VIDEOGAMES! Last edited by scrobytilt; 04-17-2007 at 03:37 PM.. |

Re: At least 31 dead at Virginia Tech
I guess they were able to get some of his writings from college. I read some of the first story, but couldn't finish it. I didn't even bother reading the second one. It is very disturbing.
http://newsbloggers.aol.com/2007/04/...ng-huis-plays/ I also heard about the story of the professor who held the door so he couldn't get back into the classroom. My hats off to him as well.

Re: At least 31 dead at Virginia Tech
I'm sorry for my part in it, stretchy. The reason for my sarcasm is this:
Often times people take advantage of tragedies like this and use them as opportunities to push their own ploys, like the idea that videogames are the reason for violent youth, and such. I meant to disrespect to those lost, and offer my deepest apologies. |

Re: At least 31 dead at Virginia Tech
This is really sad, but as far as I know, everyone that I know that goes there is okay. I really feel bad for all the other families and friends that have to go through this grief. It's horrible.
I was also reading one of the articles, and it mentions that one of the doctors at the hospitals said that not a single injured victim came in with less than 3 bullet wounds. Which is just.. completely unbelievable. My thoughts and prayers go out to their families, and yes, I also read about the professor who basically sacrificed his life for the lives of his young students. ... so tragic. |
