Default [ON HOLD] Touhou Pad Pack II

Putting TPP2 on hold for now. I'm putting all my focus into ERe, so this will probably be neglected for now.

Hold onto those simfiles for now.

Crap >.<

I was forced to format my laptop that included all of my files, including the Marisa Remix, Grimoire of Alice, and Necrofantasia.

I have to work on them again, but first I have to retrieve the songs itself, which will take a while. Sorry but I'm out for at least a month.

Might as well update my long overdue list.

In summary of everything new I've done:
- Restepped my Pico Pico Rabbit chart and resubmitted. Awaiting Xiao to resync the file and create graphics.
- Made graphics for Tsurupettan as well as fixed pad errors and fixed the BNS. Resubmitted to the pack email.
- Fixed up the errors Xiao pointed out in my Flowering Night file. Waiting for him to re-sync and it'll be accepted.
- Finished restepping Soukuu ni Mae, Sumizome no Sakura. Made graphics as well. Need to submit.
- Started stepping Plastic Mind.

Current:
  • Plastic Mind by dBu

Possibilities:
  • Border of Life by Demetori

Completed:
  • Soukuu ni Mae, Sumizome no Sakura V2 by Sayuri

Pending:
  • Kaze no Uta [Oni] V2 by Sayuri (Collab with xThai)
  • Pico Pico Rabbit [Oni] by dBu (Collab with Xiao)
  • Flowering Night by Unknown Artist

Accepted:
  • Tsurupettan by NYO

I already have it. Or rather, I had it, but I could get it again.

I used mines to spell out the numerals '1', '2', and '9' and realized after I sent it in that reverse scroll players would have the numbers inverted.

Man this pack can't die. There's actually quite a few people who are waiting for this pack to be finished. They don't want it to die. Some of them actually said that they're willing to re-install stepmania just to download this pack, and some people may start playing ITG again just to play these songs.

Pack's not exactly dead but it is pretty inactive since Dan has been neglecting this pack as well as ER.

If I had permission from him, I could become a secondary judge and look over the current submitted files and keep this thread relatively more active than it is now with reviews. The only files I've looked over are his submissions which he usually sends to me upon completion =/

Yeah Dan needs to hire more judges who are willing to judge if one of them are unable to, somewhat like ER. I could judge if Dan would accept it. I have quite a bit of knowledge in terms of patterning and such, and since I usually make pad files for the most part and play them (and quite a few people seems to enjoy it), I know which files are fun and which are not.

I can post this project to a few sites that might be willing to submit to this pack (doujinstyle, bemanistyle, etc) if you would like.

Ever since starting solo, any arrowsmashing desire I have is almost entirely related to 6 keys. I haven't forgotten this project or abandoned it, but with the free time I have I'm more often than not stepping solo files or something.

I wouldn't mind having additional judges. In fact, I'll accept applications from anybody interested. It would make my life a LOT easier, because I could narrow down the files to anything worth my time (instead of sifting through all of them). If you are interested though, there are some snags I'd want you to be aware of:

- Unlike ER, this is more dictator-like. Judges would help cut down submissions to a rough-hewn selection and I would have the final decision in which files ultimately make it into the pack.
- I will give you some criteria to factor into acception/rejection. I realize personal bias can be inherent in judging files (look at ER: Zero loves half-turns, Halogen loves crossovers, Oni hates stamina files etc.), so I feel this is a measure that should be taken.
- You will use my scale from ER to rate files. Self-explanatory.

------

Criteria for applying:
- You must have a single alias you go by. (ex. either ddr_f4n or Gpop)
- You must link me to or attach two (2) of your best pad files. If I've already judged any of your files or worked with you before this isn't necessary.
- Write a brief synopsis of why you'd like to be a judge. Nothing fancy or life stories required. Maybe 2-5 lines should do it.
- Include your real first name in the e-mail somewhere - I hate calling people I work with online by username.

If you're interested, drop me an e-mail at xiaounlimited@gmail.com.

------

Also, if you know of any communities that would be interested in submitting to this pack by all means do it. A broader range of communities would harvest a wider array of stepping styles. Only hitch is that files must not play like DDR/MGD charts. What this means is:
- Avoiding adding random rhythms (unless it REALLY REALLY works with the song).
- Gallops that go to nothing (re: above).
- Ridiculous crossover runs (Hades, Relinquish, Trigger or Dash Hopes anyone?).
etc.etc. Anyone who knows how to step properly should know these things.

On a final note, I am removing Critical Judgment and Tsurupettan from the file pool.

That should cover it.

Aww, you cut Critical Judgement

Anyways, then sure I'll apply. If it's between ddr_f4n and Gpop, then I'll go with Gpop since I'd much rather that name.
