Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
One thing I don't like about forced multi difficulties is that once the main chart is done the other charts will often be rushed for submission

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
When I step for Third Style I take a really long time for one song just because I want all difficulties to be more than copy paste and remove/add from the prior chart. I pretty much do most difficulties all by scratch. It's honestly monotonous which is why I can see why some people would want to rush things.
Sure there can be multiple difficulties on FFR, but I sure as hell don't want that to be a forced concept. And of course, some songs would warrant more than one difficulty more easily than other songs. |

if you rush beginner/easy/medium it's a character fault that you need to fix edit: or you could find someone who prefers to do ez difficulties and split

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
I really would like to know if the (implied) multiple difficulty rule is going to be changed too - there's a lot of songs that I would want to see a lower (or higher) level chart to, but the v2 rule seems to make that a lot more difficult than it should be.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Well there are a good amount of rock songs that have [Standard] [Heavy] etc. It'd be nice if it could be extended to other genres. There are also songs that say [Oni] [Heavy] etc. but they don't have a harder/easier chart to coincide with.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
They don't have the coinciding difficulty because they were probably connected to widget songs that weren't on the game itself.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Yes, I would like to move this site to incorporating multiple difficulties for levels. It strikes me as absurd that we aren't leveraging each song to its full potential. I'll talk to jx about this and see if we can work something out.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
What's the v2 rule? (And, should it be the individual judges or someone like jx/aperson who decide whether a song deserves another chart?)

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
It's not a "true" rule, but more of an implied one - where if someone were to step a second version of a song, they'd be judged considerably more harshly, even if the song was a large difference in difficulty. Rather than having songs judged this way, we should be looking for easier charts of harder songs and judging them as lower difficulties, not as "v2" charts.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Not a rule, but yes, that's what it implies: the file has to be considerably different. By that same token, the second version would naturally be more scrutinized to make sure that the file is different enough from the first version. Judging isn't artificially made stricter; it's just the product of ensuring a considerably different file.
