I don't see how you can go through the last few posts I've made in here, see my reasoning, and state that I'm being blind, immature, or aggressive, or that I don't have a point.

Perhaps because nforcer has said dumber things in the past.
Perhaps I am simply at fault in this matter, but also, perhaps this specific matter is a particularly small one.

Did I? Reread my post and tell me I was directly referring to your posts.

The fact is that I suggested nothing about your personal opinions. I commented on the my observances of opinions like yours. Whether or not I feel you fit into that group is irrelevant.

That's like me saying "Guidos are idiots." Then saying that I wasn't refering to you specificly, but Guidos in general and if you happen to be a Guido it is irrelevant.

It's not.

Ahh, I apologize, I misread your post. I read:

A misunderstanding.

And actually, to an extent, Grandia has a point there.

Not exactly, as that statement would directly implicate me as an idiot, being a Guido. I made a generalization about an idea, and suggested that most people who hold that idea do so out of blind, immature aggression. Were Rai to hold that idea (which he does), then I'm saying he may hold that idea for those reasons. There's nothing explicit about it.

EDIT: But this still has nothing to do with the discussion. Whether or not I'm full of crap or way off target with what I said, it's unimportant...

Not only that, but you are entirely incorrect. I have every intention of being out of here as soon as I can manage it, and I also make it my business to avoid making any decision for the purpose of being "cool." Actually, if I was that type of person, I would be sided with you.
So how exactly do you plan to:

- Get the money to leave the country in the first place?
- Get the money to start a new life in another country?
- Find a suitable place to live?
- Gain enough knowledge of the new country's language to be able to get by in society?
- Find a job that will provide enough funds to sustain your life in this new country, bearing in mind that any decent paying job will probably require at least proficiency in, if not mastery of, the new language? Don't forget that, since you're leaving at 18, you won't have an education beyond the completion of high school, which doesn't fly nearly as high in the job market as it once did.
- Find an affordable means of transportation?
- Find affordable means of entertainment?
- Complete important daily/weekly/monthly tasks that you spent the first 15 years of your life largely dependant on your immediate family to help you out with, if not do for you?

I don't make my life decisions to be cool. In fact, if you weren't so judgemental/assuming, you'd know that I don't plan on spending the rest of my life in America either.

There's a lot more to what you're proposing than just "this country sux i'm leaving asap".
Most of this is just growing up as normal. Move out and adapt to a new situation. That's how growing up works kilga.

The most common and easiest choice for leaving USA is Canada.

In fact, I'm interested in the prospect of living in Canada. I know I won't be able to live there for a long time (until I get enough money to support such a large move), but I would like to move there eventually.

"Growing up" doesn't put money in your wallet, food on your table or a job on your resume. This isn't SimCity, you don't magically start with a large amount of funds with which to build upon.

And I would hardly call the decision to leave the country as soon as possible is growing up "as normal".

Although learning how to put food on your table and in your wallet is part of growing up.

Actually, it's natural for people (especially the youngest of us) to want to leave their home as soon as possible.

Just, in this case, the home is the entire country.

I'm saying that moving to another country is like moving out of your house, just harder.

Your point was that we could not possible move out because of money/dependence/etc. My point was that we would not remain children forever and that moving to another country is a definite possiblility.

I'm not saying it's not possible, I'm just asking where the initial funding and knowledge is going to come from. "Growing up" will only get you so far - you can be the most mature person in the world, but if you don't have the tangible means to leave the country you're not going to survive for very long if you try to do it anyway.

That's what we call logic, of course if I don't have tangible means I couldn't go to another country. Like if I didn't have hands I couldn't type. Unlike missing hands however, I can aquire the means to go to another country. Pretty much anyone can if they try.

You're saying it's perfectly possible for anyone to generate five or six figures (or maybe even seven) in savings and the mastery of another language while spending four years in high school?

No, I'm not. After high school is a different matter though.
