nope. Sharks' consistent peppering will break down Howard first.

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Only time will tell. Speaking of which.
Recap, etc. - PHI/BOS: Holy wow... Can you say wrecked? Boucher chased after letting in 5 on 23, and Bobrovsky doesn't do much better letting in 2 out of 10 as the Bruins rock the Flyers to open there series. - VAN/NSH: Note to self, NEVER work with co-workers who jinx the games.. Both times Nashville scored, my co-worker said something that was jinx-worthy... and it worked. Double OT was what it took for Nashville to beat the Canucks and we're headed back to Music City, USA even at 1. Last edited by T-Force; 05-1-2011 at 12:38 AM.. |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Double posting for a (soon-to-be) 2 day update.
- SJS/DET: The Sharks pull off another 2-1 victory and leave the Shark tank with an unexpected 2-0 lead. Will they carry that success to the Motor City? Or will the Wings find a way to win in Hockeytown? - TBL/WSH: In another unexpected turn of events, it may have taken overtime, but the Lightning have once again found a way to beat the Caps and take a 2-0 back home to T-Bay. - PHI/BOS: And yet another case of heartbreak for the Broad Street Bullies as David Krejci ends it in OT while the Bruins ride a 52 save performance from Timmy T. Yet another series is up 2-0 and we'll see you back in Beantown. Last edited by T-Force; 05-2-2011 at 10:06 PM.. |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Despite Vancouver winning, I feel Nashville is going to win the next game; this is pretty impressive for a home crowd:

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
It's pretty disgusting for a home crowd... why that yellow-orange?
Also, considering you could see many a Canucks jersey, flag and even a Green man or two... ;D RE-CAP: - TBL/WAS: Well. How're you guys enjoying your Caps pick now? You're not you say? Huh. I can't imagine why... oh right. 2 goals in 24 seconds put the Lightning to 4-3 instead of 3-2 and the Bolts please the home crowd with another victory. This makes 6 straight victories for them and gives them a commanding 3-0 series lead. - NSH/VAN: Great solid game, and we actually had some scoring! Sloppiness was also a factor at both ends, but Ryan Kesler also decided to put a puck in the net. Two, actually, and Vancouver wins it 3-2 in OT. |

I'm trying to channel the same defeatism that I had when the Flyers were down 0-3 last year. Maybe it'll work again.

Lightning beat the crap out Washington. Series over, TB Sweep.
Sharks lead 3-0 after another overtime game in their run. Boston leads 3-0 after a shellacking of Philly. Yes. <3 I'm looking pretty sweet on my picks right about now. |

Hold up, going to tally the results. Out of the 14 participants this round, the record was: 4-10. Although I doubt any of us predicted a sweep. |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
VAN/NSH: Tight game all the way. Nashville claws back twice to tie at 1-1 then 2-2, but Kesler hits the winner almost halfway through the 3rd period. Henrik Sedin finally boards a goal (an empty-netter) in the last half-minute to clinch the victory.
Canucks lead 3-1! But as the Chicago series took overtime in game SEVEN to finish off, Nashville still has a chance. Just not a good one with Vancouver's momentum. Damn. On a side note, I'm in the 97th percentile on ESPN's Playoff challenge. :3 |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Few notes on this year's playoffs:
Can't believe the Lightning swept the Caps that easily, maybe I underestimated them after watching an ugly first series against the Pens. Mike Knuble says it best in his interview though. Something along the lines of "I just don't get it, it's like whenever they need a goal, or want a goal.. they press this button and it just happens. Seems so effortless and it's extremely frustrating." Looks like Boston will beat out the Flyers as well but I expect a bit of a comeback from them before this thing is over. On the western side of things, I don't really think Nashville's crowd is that special in comparison to all the other arenas doing the exact same thing (minus the live bands at intermissions perhaps). I don't see anything left of them. Going to Vancouver for game 5 and only generating an average of like 8 or 9 shots a period, they're going to need a serious style change to beat the Canucks (hungry to end the series). Have barely been following the Wings/Sharks series but I'm extremely surprised to see SJ up 3-0. Most overtime games I've ever seen before. It's making for some pretty good hockey, hope it gets even better for conference finals. |

Dangit, Cyrenics, you're stealing my job here. XD
Either way, beauty goal by Kes to get though both O'Brien AND Weber, and we get treated to the wide-armed "I'm awesome" celebration. For those who don't get the reference: 0:10. Listen closely. Last edited by T-Force; 05-6-2011 at 12:06 AM.. |
