I ended up reading the whole Southperry thread about Koolk, wow that was long..

Anyways, Nexon is going to win no matter what, he tampered with their stuff and distributed it, end of story.

The worst part about it is, Nexon will continue to update the game poorly, screw people out of money through the Cash Shop and happily get away with it and complete ignore the fact that Odin/Titan MS for made out of enjoyment of the original game that they could not provide fun with anymore.



Soon Nexon will be out of business, so it's ok. Maplestory is dying more and more each day, especially now since they are attacking all the people trying to make the game fun for everyone.

That's like saying the record companies are going to go out of business for attacking large illegal distributors.

That won't happen.

MapleStory has seemed to be slipping (play value, I mean... the updates seem better than ever, but the service is as bad as ever and the community has gotten consistently worse as time goes on)... but I think you're underestimating how profitable their business model is. Their game doesn't have to be popular or even all that active for them to make a boatload of money on it. And MapleStory's not even the only game they have.

Oh I agree with you totally, their profit isn't seeing a huge loss, infact it's probably better than ever with it's recent popularity in the last year or so going big and commercials etc for however long.. It's just like WOW though, there's huge hype for the first few years then the game isn't even worthwhile and people picking up random RPG's because they are bored are keeping the game alive.

Nexon obviously doesn't care about good customer support, because they've already pretty much lost all their chances at regaining a great community it had 2 years ago, but money is money whether it comes from a garbage community or not.

It's just a real shame they keep going out of their way pretending like the game has gone completely downhill while compensating everyone with updates that eventually will be released but only sooner, /sarcasm/ what an incredible incentive to keep playing... /sarcasm/

And yeah, I shouldn't have said "out of business", but they'll slowly start going away once people get tired of it and look for something new, but it'll bomb at one point where most other games still have random people logging on every so often like D2. DiabloII is the biggest piece of **** ever since 1.10 patch was released, they lost half of their faithful community and active players, but gained a new community through the 1.10 patch which prevented hackers and encouraged more fair play, big deal.. They totally nerfed the game and pissed everyone off. This is what's going to happen to Maple soon, piss everyone off enough where a huge chunk of their players disapear and eventually I think and hope it'll just go away for good and be forgotten.


EDIT: Also, when it happens, knowing them, they'll try to redeem themselves through another ****ty MMORPG which will never be successful like Maplestory because everyone will remember how poorly it was handled over time.

FlowsionMS got shuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut down! lmao. Good for those ****ing ******s. On top of being horrible developers and having a horrible community which everyone apparently praises, they were the only successor to OdinMS and continuing what was left of it's source, but they got pwned by Nexon the other day. Who's next?

I think they said one of the people who had been working with Flowsion decided to continue on, even after all the other devs advised against it.

So in another couple of weeks or so I expect to be hearing about them being shuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut down as well.

It really is a shame these bright kids would rather waste their time on illegal ventures when they could apparently set up their own game if they only developed an original client. All they need is original music, art/graphics, and story. I don't think it would be hard to recruit the more creative folks from southperry.net to help in a project that can recreate some of the greatness of the style of MapleStory in an original way (heck, there might even be some worthwhile people lingering at sw.net). They could even take the opportunity to ensure gameplay is actually balanced across classes. Heck, they do a nice enough job and they could turn a LEGIT PROFIT ON IT.

Plans for the next server are actually very exclusive. The actual players themselves distribute the client, and register other people for the game. As long as the people running the server don't distribute the client, the server can't be shut down.

Saved up a little over maxed mesos (2.3b). Spent 1.75b on chaos scrolls and pink capes only to come out with a 6 atk 0 slot in the end over a few capes.

3 atk -> 2 atk
3 atk -> 4 atk -> 5 atk -> 5 atk(work +0) -> 6 atk -> 6 atk(fail)
4 atk -> 4 atk(fail) -> 0 atk(work -4)
