also deliberately missing the first death drain in sudden death and using power steal to take the opponents one the instant he gets it is FUCKING HILARIOUS

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Got GHIII today. Never played a GH game in my life and I'm loving it. Beat career on Easy, working on Medium. Five-starred Through the Fire and Flames on Easy. Not that any of that's any good or anything, but considering I've never played before, I think it's decent.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
gh3 is alright they have some good songs but rockband might be even better even if you have only the guitar its still fun, and the game looks so nice what with all the motion captioning they did

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Been playing it a little over a mates. Like the muse song, Paint it Black, that Slipknot tune, Welcome to the Jungle and Prayer of the Refugee.
Now Through the Fire and Flames on Hard is a Joke. On the other settings I think it's fine. The step chart is awesome. But on Hard, it's fucking stupid. It's so poor. It's like they never tried, as if they just got the expert chart and just pick out all the fun parts and left in all the annoying bit. Seriously, I think that chart on hard is so piss poor. It's not fun in the least. I hate it. I can get about 90% on it but God I hate it so. The worst song or stepchart I've played for any Guitar Hero song. Now I play on Expert and I can do all the songs fine, 5 starring some is a different story but I've 5 starred most of them, but Through the Fire and Flames on Expert is too hard for me. I can get to the second hectic main solo and I'm out. So I want to play that song on hard for fun, even though parts still challenge me I think it's not that hard. But it's so crap. It has annoyed me greatly. I'm left with like 3 choices. A) Play the song on Expert and get tired of failing on the same bit. It's annoying as it's like 5 minutes into the damn some. Yea I could whore it but it wouldn't be fun, I'd rather get the skills from other songs and progress that way than the tedious "practice the same bit over and over" way of doing things. B) Because I love the song, I can play it on Hard and well enough to enjoy myself. Well dispite playing it well I can't enjoy myself because the step chart is shockingly bad, like I said, the worst step chart I've seen for any Guitar Hero song. And I've played Rocks the 80's C) Play the song on medium and enjoy FCing it and listening to the song, BUT it's way too below me to have any fun playing the song.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Use the no-fail cheat and play it expert.
It seems that Neversoft did that with every song on GH3, make one really good chart and then either layer more on to make a ridiculous expert chart or dumb it down and make a boring hard chart. So most songs have one good chart and one terrible chart. And then there's Stricken which I swear to God they mixed up the medium chart with it halfway through.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I'm starting to get pissed at TTFAF on expert myself. The intro is no problem, might fail once - three times but then I'm through. But I just can't get past 80-90%. It just, I don't know. It's not that hard, but it's just..I can't get past it. I got to 91%(Almost There!) And I failed. Haven't gotten as close since, usually 70-80...anyone got any tips on basicly anything past and including Herman's solo?

So after playing RB, it made this game look too ridiculously hard, not that I didn't notice that before, but much more noticable then before. The GH3 controller was probably the only "great" thing that came with it.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Kay, Squeek.
You said that you shouldn't have to cheat to beat the game, and that you've beaten' every other game without much practice and you only practice to perfect. Well you can beat the game on easy, medium, and hard, It hasn't taken' you long whatsoever to get to expert let alone the last tier in expert, so you shouldn't be complaining. Guitar hero wants you to beat the game on medium/hard as the norm. Expert is the extra difficulty that you need to perfect. You need to practice just to play expert, and you need to put in exetreme numbers of hours to 5*/100% expert. They didn't want a game where people can perfect it. And, as someone else said, there should always be something to strive for. There certainly is and if you get frustrated because you're not able to do it, don't post 5 billion times please, keep it to yourself and stop dissing the manufacturers untill you actually beat the song, and have the skill to appreciate the difficulty. Get over it and practice, please, you will get it eventually, and you'll see that every note they put in represents an actual note in the songs, you just need to hit the notes to hear the sounds they represent. I think they did a pretty damn good job of making note charts maybe there is some un neccesary chords here and there, but who cares, it's not an actual guitar, it's different, and this is how they want you to play it, obviously not like a real guitar, so don't play it like a real guitar. Simple, adapt... |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Oh, I always saw the extra notes/chords as a way to make up for the fact that the 'guitar' you use only has one string opposed to the five on a real guitar.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
A guitar has 6 strings Mal. Not to meantion 24 frets rather than 5 represented on the game guitar. And yeah that's kinda always been my explanation for certain charts to be ridiculous stuff. So I never really complained about it...
Still can't freaking beat TTFAF. Got 90% again....>.< |
