Depends, he might be a lot shorter than you haha.
Or the reverse. Either way, time for growth! |

Re: The Fitness Thread
We're pretty much the same height
I'm just hoping this means I might get some gains I'll be able to visually see. I definitely feel like I'm getting stronger though. |

I really wanna try the P90X program. I just wish I had someone to do it with.

Re: The Fitness Thread
I'm 11 months in as of right now.
Also take my advice and don't do P90x if you're trying to bulk. It's counter-productive. You're burning calories like crazy, when your goal is to consume. Just get a gym membership, it will save you a lot of time.

Re: The Fitness Thread
Do any of you guys run? I'm trying to get under 5:00 for a mile by the end of the semester. Last I checked I was at 5:20 and my pacing was awful.

Re: The Fitness Thread
Too much. If you're looking to lose weight, do insanity. You won't have to buy anything as a pre-requisite.

Re: The Fitness Thread
My cut officially began today.
Starting dry weight: 183 lbs. May the slow cut begin. I'm hoping to be finished in June sometime

Re: The Fitness Thread
I feel like a lot of the weight I've been gaining lately is fat due to eating so much food. I don't like this feeling, but maybe I should just keep doing it and bulk for awhile and then cut closer to the summer?
Is it too close to the summer to start bulking now? Help |

Pics would be helpful, or BF% caliper measurements. Like, I anticipate it will take me about 3 months to lean out to where I want to be. However, how long it will take depends entirely on where you are at now. If you want to look lean for say, June, I wouldn't bulk for much longer than a month or so. You'll want to cut for at least 8 weeks I would think.

It depends entirely on how lean you want to get though. General rule of thumb will be that you won't lose more than 2 lbs of fat a week. 1.5 lbs a week is more of a safe estimate. @ 15% BF, and 160 lb body mass, that's about 24 pounds of fat. If you want to look 'lean' you'll want to come in at under 10% body fat. @ 9% body fat you would need to lose 10 lbs of fat and your weight would be a maximum of 150 lbs (realistically it is going to be much less than this because of glycogen + water loss. I would expect to weigh in at more like 140-145). So, 10/1.5 = 6-7 weeks of very strict dieting to get that lean. Add some leeway for dietary mistakes and that brings you to about 8 weeks of cutting necessary to be 'beach body' lean. Assuming your body fat % is actually 15%. I personally want to get down to about 6-7% and be quite a bit leaner than I ever have been before.
