I used to keep my e-life and **** a big secret from my parents and then a year later I told them and they thought it was kind of weird. People who watch me play are like "wow" but i'm actually pretty ****ty. My parents always used to be like "if you spent 1/4th of the time studying that you spend on the computer you'd have straight A's" or whatever, but they don't say much anymore. They tell me to get offline when I'm up at 3am on skype talking to people and ****, but they don't say anything about anything else.

It seems many of our dads are unsupportive. Mine isn't he doesn't care and finds it annoying. But my Mom doesn't care and is nice and always says I'm really good at it.

My dad works for Microsoft so he thinks it's awesome, and my mom thinks that I'm too good for my own well-being.

My parents are okay with it.
My dads girlfriend says that it's a good way to improve your hand/eye coordination. They know that I enjoy playing it, and there are so problems whatsoever. =]]

My Dad rags on me saying that I'm going to break my keyboard and desk because I play it so much. The rest of my family is apathetic at best, and my friends are all too scared to play because they've seen how hard it can be.

I wish my parents were like some of yours. My dad trips over how i'm on it 24/7 and my mommy doesn't really care as long as I do what i'm supposed to do around the house, but both get mad over the continuos, (I'm not sure if I spelled it correctly), tapping they hear from downstairs. Other than it's all kewl.

My parents are sort of mixed about it. They don't really care about anything I do on the computer so long as I don't screw myself up. And to date, I haven't. They don't think it's a particularly worthwhile skill, but they are impressed when I go crazy and show them a video.
My mom probably thinks "Yet another thing he's good at. If he would work out with that same enthusiasm, he'd be really fit. Still...that's pretty interesting." My dad probably thinks "He's going to screw up his computer if he keeps doing that. Not really that interesting, but I can't say it's not impressive." My dad's one of the head computer mechanics for the Bank of America office building here, and he seems to think that anytime I try something on my computer, it'll mess up. He even seems to think that merely by using hard drive space, the computer will mess up. In other words, my parents really don't give a crap. |
