Hotel party seems like a good idea, but it's really just a quick way to get kicked out of the hotel. At Youmacon last year we had a chiptune party, bunch of random people showed up, brought beer, etc, it was shut down within like ~10 minutes and everyone kicked out of our room. Then we got a stern talking to about being too noisy. If you have a party with the door closed it's probably better, but hard to get random people that way.

we were just our group and it was fine like that. I don't want a dumpload of people and i especially don't want to be so loud that we get kicked out haha

At AN 2012, we got into some "trouble" with the Radisson front counter when we were checking out on Sunday afternoon because the maids alerted the staff that we had way over the maximum number of people crashing in our room—8 people were crashing over Saturday night, and the night before we only had 6. Pretty much all they did was bitch us out that it was a fire hazard and not to do it again, rofl. Mind you, when we had that mini hotel party (the one where LJ got wasted) no complaints whatsoever about noise disruption.

AN 2011, we didn't get into any shit with the staff even though we had 7 people crashing in our room.

This year's AN even though he had a massive hotel gathering in our room, we didn't get into any shit about noise disruption luckily. Also, we had a total of 8 people crashing in our room for the weekend and we didn't get into trouble with the staff luckily, maybe because the maids didn't say anything about it. I was a bit worried we'd get into some sort of shit because if it happened, it'd be me (hotel room was under my name) and my friend that reserves our hotel rooms in the first place getting bitched at for the trouble, rofl.

The hotel really cares more about how many people are crashing in the room because they're losing money from moochers, not so much the noisy parties because there's simply way too many of them going on to manage and care about. Of course, we've been doing closed door parties and weren't that noisy of a bunch, so that more or less avoided any noise complaints.
