Re: Swine Flu.....
OMFG I JUST REALIZED! Forgot which prophecy said it but there's supposed to be an epidemic (or our modern version of a pandemic/plague) that is supposed to kill millions by the year 2012... LOL! I'm surprised no one's brought up this theory in the thread yet... Unless I totally missed one.

Re: Swine Flu.....
Influenza on average kills anywhere from 250,000 to 500,000 people a year as it is. H1N1 is not going to wipe out millions and millions of people.
At its best, H1N1 is slightly more virulent than the normal flu. When people think pandemic, they instantly think bubonic plague and a large percentage of the population dying. The flu ain't got **** on the plague to be honest. I don't think this is going to be half as bad as the media is blowing it up to be. They're just trying to scare everyone. Re: Swine Flu.....
People have recovered from it -- sure, people have died from this, but people die from a lot of things (heat waves, et al). We can only control diseases so much -- I'd think it would be more important to prevent death where we can, you know, like wars and such. It's also being blown out of proportion, as others have already said.

Re: Swine Flu.....
Agreed. If everyone did their history on past pandemics/epidemics many started with no "cure" yet they either only sickened or killed a low number of people before it was eradicated. This outbreak is no different. Hell, most people who are getting sick (outside of Mexico lol) are recovering just fine as if they only had the normal seasonal flu. People just need to chill. Even if you DO get it, it's still no cause for alarm. As long as you've been in good healthy condition and had your regular exams with health care professionals you'll be fine. The media sucks cause they're blowing it WAY out of proportion. Also, the WHO is a bunch of fence post tools scaring everyone into thinking the world's in a pandemic. WHO can kiss my ass. Sorry pussies.

Re: Swine Flu.....
If humanity lived through the plague which at the time had like a 50+% mortality rate. I think we will be fine.

Re: Swine Flu.....
I've got some suggestion to not get the swine flu:
1. Wear this mouthmask or whatever it's called in english. 2. Don't get in the area of an sick person. 3. Don't do "high 5's". You never know if the person washs his/her hand. Hands are actually always full of bacterias. 4. Don't drink out of a bottle if another person already drank out of it. (If my suggestions are ****ty, please excuse me.) We have 4 causes here in Germany. 2 of them are already getting better, but I don't know anything about the other 2... In fact, there's a drug against the flu. |

Re: Swine Flu.....
I'm right across the water from Manhattan, here on campus. In fact, it's clearly visible from the window beside me. Where you are all complaining about the two or three cases in your counties getting your panties into a bunch, try at least 50, okay? I don't see the streets littered with dead bodies. I don't see Manhattan in shambles. Sorry to burst your bubble, people, but this isn't the T-virus, and your zombie apocalypse isn't happening.

Re: Swine Flu.....
red circles are where new probable cases have popped up. we're screwed. especially since I-35 runs right in front of my campus, and hundreds of thousands of people travel that interstate. several people have tested positive for flu here in waco recently, no word yet if its normal or swine - waiting for the test results. |

Re: Swine Flu.....
Okay, I lied, we won't have a zombie apocalypse yet. The current pandemic just doesn't happen to be that apocalypse. =P
