Re: The BMS/IIDX Thread
I'm possibly considering deleting background animations in my BMS folders to save space. Does anyone know whether anything will happen if I delete the background animation from a BMS folder? Will it make the BMS not work, will I be able to play the file but not have the score record, or will nothing happen? Does it matter whether it's a movie (like .mp4 format) or simply pictures (.jpg, .bmp, etc.)?
Any information is appreciated. Of course, I know I could just experiment myself, but just in case something goes horribly wrong, I want to ask here first.

Re: The BMS/IIDX Thread
The picture should just be black if there isn't anything there. Most of the stuff that takes space in BMS though is whether or not the file is keysounded

Re: The BMS/IIDX Thread
you can also load the .bms files by themselves without any keysounds/bga and it will still work fine.

Re: The BMS/IIDX Thread
Okay, thanks guys.
That's true, though occasionally there are those super-high quality movie BGAs. You can't really see them anyway on doubles.

Re: The BMS/IIDX Thread
Regarding LR2, there are new revised dan courses available on the main site (which appears to be down as of right now). Some courses have been fixed, including the dreaded 10th dan and couple insane dans. The downside is that most of them, especially the insane dans, are now much harder.
5th Dan Hard Clear. (Old version) Also. ★15 LUNASA the Stormcauser [MANIAC7] Hard Clear

Re: The BMS/IIDX Thread
LongGone, would you say the **7 overjoys are the hardest BMS files that have been cleared by people?
Also, this guy says **1 = *21; does that mean that **7 = *27? Or are **7 the same as *24? |

Re: The BMS/IIDX Thread
Its just a loose comparison; they are both different scales. But roughly speaking
**1=*21 **2=*22 **3=*23 **4=*24 The *scale goes from *1-*24, the ** (overjoy) scale goes from **1~**7 (There are expections though) To me, **6 is the threshold where charts are "still designed to be feasibly cleared by humans"; with very hard patterns that look theoretically doable. **7 are usually joke dump/charts which only a couple have been ever cleared while the rest seems "impossible", although they might be compensated for by having a looser health gauge (unlike Stepmania, for each bms chart you can define how tight/loose you want the health gauge recovery to be) |

Re: The BMS/IIDX Thread
Test location song list for IIDX 21 SPADA.
All of a sudden, there are a lot of very familiar artists that we on FFR know about. Can't be a bad thing. |
