Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
I finished Usatei a few days ago, and I'm gonna go back to check sync. Spent about 6-7 hours on the voice to ensure that it's correctly synced in all places (unlike Zagh's ****ty offsync inconsistent version). The voice seems to be well done overall, it's a tiny bit offsync in some places, but I probably won't go fix it, since it's only off by a 192nd or so and won't make a difference in FFR at 190 bpm. (making white notes in 3.9 = pain in the ass anyways, especially when you've got dozens of them).
Should I try and use some jacks? I don't want to create too many at that speed, but if I add a few at one section, then I have to do it at all points, which is gonna be a pain to do and potentially lower the fun factor of the file (IMO).

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
zagh's usatei wasn't offsync and was layered correctly.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
I went back to review both Edit and Heavy/Oni steps in the voice on .5x to see if I was wrong, but it's pretty offsync. Mostly it just involves it being off by around a 32nd or less, but he tries to get the voice on more standard, "normal" values such as 4ths, 12ths, and so forth, and it results in a noticeable "offness" of sync in several places. The layering of the voice in some parts justifies the use of some color notes to an extent, but overall the sync is pretty half-assed, as if he stepped it in an hour on 1x music rate or something. (the lack of any 192nds also shows that, since it's a voice with zero definable rhythms and thus requires a lot of them for perfect or near-perfect sync).
The jack usage seemed inconsistent towards the end, since it's the same tune from the beginning with more jacks - but maybe it's just me.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
so much for a small, quick batch. at this point the judges should probably just post their individual reviews without tass and base the queue off of that.
