Chromer: Be glad the hackers aren't overrunning it anymore.
And yes, Chris, of course you could make more money at zlupins. If I were to train a whole level at Grupins instead of Grims, I'd make TONS more money. Hardly any HP pots and perhaps no MP pots, plus tobis. It'd also take like 100 hours to level, though, so uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no. I go to pirates so that I make more money than if I stayed at Grims all the time (I only go there for parties), but moving down to Grupins would be such crap. =\ And really, inflation isn't so bad as long as it's slow enough that you can keep up with it. It went up ridiculously fast there for a while, but now things only go up a bit. Unless you never get drops at all, you can beat inflation, and if you never get drops at all, you'd be screwed even if prices were much much lower. Like, if I get a steely now it'll do as much as it would if I had gotten a steely a year ago, I just have to use the money as soon as I can so prices don't go any higher. As usual, money sitting around is money losing its value. Really, if you have lots of money and nothing to do with it, you might as well buy something you know will at least never drop in value (throwing stars, glove attack scrolls, etc) and will hopefully increase in value. It's like buying Google stock. I mean, unless they release a quest that rewards ilbis or if the final training zone (aka: skelegons until something better comes out) drops glove attack scrolls, I don't see any way the price of those things could go down. Like really, I have some tobis on some newb character that I never sold that I could sell now for like double what they were worth now. Had I sold them and just kept that money sitting around it would have cost me. Sell what you can and buy some stock if you have nothing better to do with your money. =P

EB: I was a Cleric/Priest under the old drop rules.
I never got anything worth anything. The most I ever had was like 25 million. It was all from NPCing stuff and picking up money, along with never buying anything. |

Noah, I actually meant money per time, not money per level (or exp or anything like that).

Chris: All I get I'm NPCing now. Hell, I've even gotten like level 90 stuff and it pains me that I have to NPC it. I have a knack for getting tons and tons of female str overalls for bowmen. I can't think of a worse high level drop.
But there are ways to exploit inflation prices for your own good. Even clerics, who generally get crap drops, can go to zlupins if they wanted and make a ****ton of money. Hell, that seems a lot more reliable than fighting pirates until a steely drop (which hasn't happened for quite some time , oh well). And I said per level, but it works per time, too. Just the simple not-using-pots aspect of it, if nothing else. And I'm fairly certain the money/hp ratio vastly improves the weaker the enemy is, so unless you're way overkilling them you'll make more money in the same amount of time if you're fighting weak ass stuff.

Go to Scania if you want to save money, Khaini I guess if you want to make money. The economy in Khaini's pretty screwed up since it was a hackerfest, but it's fairly easy to make money in.

But overall, I kinda like inflation. It means I make more money and I get more money for potions. Sure, the non-merchanty people may not like buying stuff, but it's still not that bad, in my opinion. Probably Bera. |

Sometimes it's a lot of fun. I hated it when there was no Squad System and I wasn't making much money. I mean it's great and all helping friends but holy balls was it a pain without this system...
Now I'm making lots of money as we are having buyers and helping out friends too. Not to mention I was able to get a helm on the DK. :P |

May sound like a dumb question, but what exactly is new with the Squad System? Although I got to a high level, I never went to Zakum or talked to many people outside a certain group :/
I mean, there's the obvious answer, but does it really do? |

These have been some of the most frustrating couple of hours in my Maple life. I've been really antsy the past few days cuz I've been sitting on 80% but I've been too busy to sit down and fight things (couple of tests, work, etc). Well first of all, I sign in to this:
![]() which really pissed me off since it's MY ****ING GUILD. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE, WHY DO THEY ALL KNOW EACH OTHER, AND WHY DO NONE OF THE PEOPLE I KNOW/CARE ABOUT NOT KNOW THEM? -___- So I make my way to duals, report 4 hackers on the way, not long before this happens: ![]() so I say "screw duals" and go do the viking quest for a quick percent and then go on to Grims, since it'll be the best I can do, even if I don't have a priest. Things are going fine, then a MOTHER ****ING LEVEL THIRTY FIVE FIGHTER comes and asks to party. I say no and he refuses to leave. He keeps ramming them and leeching my exp. I wanted to go to bed a lot earlier, but I had to ****ing change channels so I could get away from him leeching my exp. So I'm in my new channel, things are going great, then a level 37 fighter shows up and I'm like "Lord please tell me this isn't another jackass that will ask to party and not leave." Oh no, even better, he and his 3X magician buddy are even bigger assholes. ![]() In case you can't tell, they're both godmoding and one of them was vaccing the Grims. Right after this screenshot they vacced them onto the rope where I was. They left me alone once I started teleporting around and I guess they realized they weren't gonna kill me because I'm way the hell faster. They showed up every so often to put the grims on the middle platform, which apparently they were doing to the channels, which I found out as A FULL ****ING PARTY COMES INTO MY CHANNEL because the other ones are unusable because their level 120+ selves aren't capable of killing Grims on that platform. Right before I leveled I went around killing Grims on the platform where people spawn (the hackers seemed to have left, and I hate to see this sort of thing). I kinda feel guilty, because this chick (I'm whispering her in my level up SS) signed in right as I was about to explode the Grims, and I rushed up and started killing but she was a priest and died instantly. =\ ![]() Least satisfying levelup I think I've ever had. Not even this cheered me up: ![]() =\ PS: 205% MP this level. Pretty lame. PPS: From what I got due to clearing the hacked platforms at Grims, I can approximate how much I'd get from vaccing. Misting every ~35 seconds and exploding in between I could probably level up in like 2-3 hours, even at level 101.

The Door to Zakum with a portal (door open or closed) Zakum Altar Anyone could enter as long as: 1) You haven't entered twice within the past 24 hours of the first entry. 2) You've done the quests. 3) The altar isn't full (30). 4) The door is open. This made noobs/crashers think they belonged because they could enter the map... Not to mention hackers crashing. Now it's: The Door to Zakum with a portal (door open or closed) Entrance to Zakum with an NPC Zakum Altar To get into the Entrance to Zakum, anyone can as long as: 1) You haven't entered the Zakum Altar, not Entrance, twice within the past 24 hours of the first entry. 2) You've done the quests. 3) The door is open. To get into the Zakum Altar: 1) No other squad must be signed up. 2) To start a squad, you must be in a party of at least 3 and be the leader. 3) To enter the altar, there must be at least be 6 people signed up (don't have to be partied, only the leader has to be in a party of at least 3.. you can change parties in the altar). 4) The squad leader can kick, which also bans them from signing up again, up to 10 people from the list. 5) After the squad leader is satisfied with the list, he enters the altar through the NPC. Everyone follows by clicking the NPC. 6) There is a 10 minute timer to do this. However, the last 5 minutes are just a waste as you need to get everyone signed up and in the altar before the first 5 minutes are up. Otherwise they can't enter if the leader went in. Or if the leader didn't go in, you wait out the remaining time and have everyone re-sign up. This lets us go in without crashers. However, it also allows people to afk in the altar without summoning. Though it's harder for them to do as they need 6 people to enter the altar.Insanity does their runs from 9-10 pm EST. But it's only 2 attacking parties + 1 buyer party, and it's a closed group. The most money I've ever held without a loan was 9 mil, with loans, 12 mil. I was never able to go over the 10 mil bump by myself but I do know I've spent well over 30 mil on scrolls. I had all my equipment planned out so I would know what I needed to buy when I had the money.
Like Squeek, most of my money came from picking up cash dropped by monsters AND the thief hat that drops off Zombies. I found them so often, it wasn't even funny. I had to make trips down from the training grounds to NPC the hats rather than muling the Zombie teeth I found. Of course, when Cash Shop came out, I spent five dollars, bought the extra inventory slots, and never found a single hat again. Drops I needed were so terrible for me. I looked for my Thorns for 22 levels with the same warrior. She found two, both times, I wasn't with her. I'm pretty sure Squeek got one of them, but the stats were below; the other, she found it with a random priest about my level after twenty or so minutes of partying. It was above in stats by two, I think he was in my 7x signature on sw.net because they found it right after I leveled. ~Tsugomaru
