Pig Beach is no good after you max Claw. Myself, I enjoy the bigger creatures that I can two-hit-kill, like by the Warrior 2nd Job Instructor by Perion with Dark Axe Stumps and Wild Boars, or (a better but annoyingly more popular place) the dungeon on the right exit of Sleepywood because it's crawling with Hornies.

I can 1HKO Hornies, but a wild boar might take me 2-3 hits. I haven't tested this theory out. So no more PQ unless I just want a scroll or something?

Yeah, the best place to work a mage at that level is in the dungeon near sleepywood. There are zombie mushrooms and horny mushrooms that you should be able to 1HKO. If not, use some wizard potions dropped by horny mushrooms. As for me, I'm using my level 20 archer for now in Scania. Any places to work my archer? I just need one more level to max Critical Shot and start maxing Double Shot.

Just hit level 14 on my theif. Started putting points into nimble body, I need to max the range thingy, then probably nimble body, then lucky 7.

Squeek you sure you want to max door? I heard that no one has ever placed more than 1 sp in door because you just need it for it's basics. Anyway, if you add more sp to door it only enables you to open the door for a longer period of time and uses less mp to do so, abit like teleport really.
If you want to do Zakum early it's Holy Symbol>1 for door>Dispel and you can PQ zakum already. Of course, if you happen to max out elemental resistance along the way, it's just an added bonus. But if you wanna solo early, you should do Holy Symbol>Shining Ray>Summon Dragon. Doom is just pretty useless, gee.

Yes, I know about Door. I have done some serious research about my build and I am quite certain it is what I want to do.
No, I do not want to go to J/Zakum early. There is no reason to. You need to be way past level 100 to be there. Oh, and without Elemental Resistance, you'll die at J/Zakum. Oh, and Door doesn't work in there. I'm pretty well-known at SW for strange builds that go against the norm. Last time I did something like this, I totally convinced people that maxing Holy Arrow was stupid. After about 10 pages of discussion, people finally agreed with me. Now, my suggestion is the standard build. And what's more, even for people who DO max Arrow, they leave out the other non-party skill MP Eater. Therefore, the concept of a Cleric designed for parties is now pretty much what everybody does. I'm not maxing Door. 30 seconds just isn't enough time, so I'm giving MY party 60 seconds; one minute. The thing is, Door puts you back at El Nath from anywhere in the field out there. If you're in El Nath and you need to recharge your stars, you aren't going to make it back to the door in time. That means I'll have to cast it AGAIN. I don't wanna do that. And hey, if a minute isn't enough, I'll go ahead and do 1:30! Doom sucks if it isn't maxed. Even when it is maxed, it only works 90% of the time. That's why if I'm not going to max Door, I have to max Doom, even if I'm rarely going to use it. I don't care if I have to dive into the 4th job skills because frankly, we're not going to get the fourth job for a long long time. I estimate that I'll be well into the fifth job by then. ~Squeek |

Hit 41.
Maxed lit. I can own lorangs if I use holy sap, but I think I'm gonna stick with jr. grupins for a while more, at least until my sin gets into PQ range.

I hit 27 a while ago and I'm almost at 28 now. It recently hit me that there's something I'm going to have to worry about rather soon: 2nd Job Advancement. That was fast.
I know I want to be an Ice/Lightning Wizard because Fire Arrow doesn't look as fun as Lightning will. Cold Beam looks cool too, but that's a while off, I think. Any suggestions on my character build, Squeek?

Tokzic, I really like how you didn't even consider cleric as a possibility. That makes me feel very well about my choice.
PS Stop leveling, Eric. I need to catch up.

I thought F/P mages were boring... That is why I quit my mage and started an archer in Scania. Cleric seemed fun, but I really like big numbers flying around the screen and realizing that they were mine! Man, I should have been a I/L mage...

Lit is so very fun, I highly recommend it.
As for a build for it... Put one into MP Eater, and start putting points into Lit. Around 33 or 34, put one into teleport for fun, if you can control yourself. If not, wait until like 38 or so. Then what I'm doing... now that I've maxed Lit, I'm gonna put alternate between Ice and Meditation for a while (Need to get MP Eater up to 3 first).. Once I have maybe 4 in ice, I'm gonna go full on for Meditation. Then I'll alternate between Ice and Teleport until they're maxed or I hit level 70.. whichever comes first.

No, don't put anything into teleport because it's completely stupid unless maxed. I regret putting any points into it now, because it just wastes my MP and my meditation could be higher.

As a lit wiz, teleport can be useful. When I'm trying to make mobs, I'll generally telecast past groups of enemies, so I end up with a ton of enemies following me. It's also useful if, say, you're cutting it really close with the orbis ship, or you accidently find some enemies that you can't quite handle, etc. Having one in it is good. If it becomes WAY too much of a problem, unbind it.
Edit: Okay, I've decided. At 3rd Job Advance (Level 70), my Skill Build will be as follows. MP Eater- 3 Meditation- 20 Teleport- 20 Slow- 18 Cold Beam- 30 Thunderbolt- 30 Total- 121 Works out perfectly. Depending on how much difference there is between Slow 17 and Slow 18, I might throw one into Magic Armor for fun. Hmm... where can I find some 3rd job builds? I wanna start making one, but I don't know what's good. Just that I'll have 151 points total, and all the 3rd job skills add up to 180. Edit again: And the build for my sin until it hits 30. Nimble Body (20)- 20 Keen Eyes (8)- 8 Disorder (20)- 3 Dark Sight (20)- 9 Double Stab (20)- 1 Lucky 7 (20)- 20 (the one in DS was an accident) It's up to 15 now, by the way. I put a few points into L7, then 3 into Nimble Body, now I'm maxing Keen Eyes. I'll max either Nimble or L7 next, and put points into Dark sight last. (But I do have 1 already. and 3 in Disorder, obviously)

Hmm, okay.
Speaking of new wands.. I think I'm gonna stick with my Wizard Wand until level 48. I'm gonna make a Cromi. Materials I already have: 1 Piece of Ice 1 Gold Ore 7 Diamond Ore 30 Emerald Ore 4 Aquamarine Ore 200,000 Mesos 25 Screws Needed 39 Gold Ore (D=) (or perhaps 9 Gold Ore and 3 Gold Plates) 13 Diamond Ore (or perhaps 3 Diamond Ore and 1 Diamond) 6 Aquamarine Ore 5 Screws (I have another level 15 character, though, so I'm gonna just do John's jq again to get these) Any discount sales are hugely appreciated... in the mean time I'll be cycling through B3 over and over again when I get bored of training. Hopefully I'll have all this stuff by Level 48.

Eric, you can buy one for so much less. Zombies drop Cromis. EVERYBODY is at Zombies, even on Bera... Therefore, it is a common drop and the price to just buy one is cheaper than the price to make one.
Also, Slow is more useful than you think it is. You can't always keep a freeze, no matter how skilled you are, if there are more than 6 enemies, or if one pops out of the range. If they're slowed down before they can reach you again and attack, you have a better chance of re-freezing before they do. ~Squeek |
