Afro, we're just the slowest moving game out of all of the versions, I think.

Why does the US always get the short end of the stick in gaming :/ We're always thrown into some global crap and we always get very slow updates. I'd bet a main part of the reason that Americans don't like games very much is because the ones we have are crappy.

Hey, for most games we seem to get rather high priority after Japan, at least compared to other English-speaking countries. Poor UK and Aussie REALLY get the short end of the stick.

We actually got the Wii before EVERYONE, including Japan, for some bizarre reason.

I've posted this before, but I'll post it again: They never expected Maplestory's American success. They were given less of a budget and didn't release very many high level places for a long time cuz they figured most of us wouldn't make it that far. Why it took them so long to figure out that we actually gave a damn is beyond me, but they've gotten a huge budget increase (it came with the change to the Nexon name, a mostly cosmetic change that also reflected more support from the parent company) so they could hire more GMs and stuff to get more content to us.

However, because we were already so behind, we have some catching up to do. That's why we got all those Victoria maps all at once instead of one by one. Hell, they didn't even tell us they'd be added in the patch info. They might quietly add stuff other than what the info says to surprise us. Esp if it's a big patch. Also, look when they send the patch out, cuz if we get divisions (aka: lots of .wz files instead of one huge data.wz) that'll be a sign of bigger and/or more frequent updates.

I expect we'll have World Tour and KFT and hopefully at least Leafre (maybe not the ice part of Riprey, whatever it's called) by summer time, which is only a couple months away. And maybe by then KMS will have added an area with super high level poison-weak monsters so I'll have something to look forward to. =(

I really don't like the new maps at all, to be perfectly honest. They look good, but none of them(except Ludibrium and only SOME of its extentions) seem to be terribly useful at all. In fact, I find Omega Sector hindering me much more than it helps me, so I never really go there at all. Same for Aqua Road.

The new Victorian maps have their uses. I dunno about the new boars and drakes, but the mixed gollem map is insanely good for a certain level range. Aquaroad is useless, except for the dungeon. Sharks are the best exp you'll get as a FP mage, and you'll take less damage from them than Grims. Squids and gobies are also very good exp for other classes, plus you have Pianus (which would be fun if not for hackers). The majority of Ludi is good exp for somebody, even the weird little areas hardly anybody goes to. I'll agree that Omega Sector is pretty worthless (there are quests for decent scrolls there or something, I think, but aside from that it's lame), and Korean Folk Town will be likewise (except that it serves as a quick link from Aquaroad to Ludi). Not all of the additions have been pointless. Really, if you think about it, very few of the total maps in the game are worth a damn to begin with, so when they add maps they're not facing very good odds of it being good.

PS: When I said it was definitely 4th job I was definitely joking. JMS doesn't even have 4th job, and they've had Leafre for a while.

Anyways, try it a few times. Your internet connection may have konked out or something. If that doesn't work, I guess you could just download the entire client again.

It sounds like it's saying that the version info isn't there that it's looking for.

Also, I like the way Wizet used to do things a long time ago(as in, when they started up the game and such) more than I like how Nexon is doing things now.

Also, I never had to update my client, it was just at the next version by itself. What the hell?

The way things are handled aren't that different from what they used to be.

GMs never did much. People just plain didn't hack that much.

Updates? We never got AWESOME OMG updates often, but we did get super fantastic ones from time to time (I seem to recall us getting 3rd job long before MSEA). Actually, I would probably say we get decent patches more often now, but because we seem to get the super fantastic patches less often, people bitch. People also bitch because they're simply not trying to get rid of the hacking problem.

Actually... do you guys think it'd be a good idea to tell them that I will take my hundreds of dollars elsewhere and remind them that the legits are the ones who blow the most money on this game? I mean... do you think it'd have any chance of making a difference?

Like... really, all they'd have to do is sit down for 1 hour and they could ban hundreds and hundreds. If I had GM power, I could single handedly wipe out just about every single instance of hacking in ludi in Bera JUST IN MY OWN FREE TIME. You ever notice they won't say how many GMs they have? I bet they have like 2 or 3. Oh! Even better: I bet they don't even have GMs on staff and just tell the translators to do GM duty for 20 minutes every day to make it look like they care.

20 minutes? In 20 minutes alone one person could easily clean out three or four dozen hackers. Just go over to those Garden places in Orbis with all the Jr. Grupins and ****. 19/20 in like every garden seems to be hacked. And then move on to the big cats. Another three dozen.

Strangely it's not making me update mine either, but it's not the new version either o_O as far as I can tell. There's no new server, at least.

I looked at the version thing and it says 35 for me. Then again, I've been vaccing forever and hell knows how messed up my client is. At least it allows me to play legitimately.

Also, Afro, I'm talking about long ago. We got 3rd job recently in relation to how long ago I'm talking about.

@Afro they don't care about your couple hundred dollars. If 50 out of the thousands of players buy cash stuff, they've likely got themselves over $1,000 right there, and you know more than 50 people have cash items.

You'd have to get like a hundred people to send the same message, and then they might notice it. Might is a key word here.

@Afro I think they have about 5-10 GM's per server(but I wouldn't know, they haven't caught me and I got into the 100's). You see when they ban people in blue. They do it all of the time on the other servers.

Also, there are a LOT more hackers than you'd think. The only reason there's only one or two per channel is because you're only seeing the ones who've been there for a while. Most of the time, even as a hacker, you have to vac in some obscure place because all of the other channels are taken by other hackers.

EDIT: xDevinEx, who I haven't touched in quite a bit, went UP about 120 rankings yesterday :/

Data.wz is now split up (Base.wz, Item.wz, Sound.wz, etc).

OH HOLY **** THEY ADDED THE VEGI MONSTERS TOO! xD Jeez we got like everything in the data now. o_O And now that Rick has finally updated with monsters, time to look for poison weak stuff at high levels...

Decent, AWESOME, and it looks like he's not quite done (or the data is incomplete), cuz lots of them have no stats, much less elemental weaknesses. At least that one Riprey boss is weak to the strongest mage skill....the one that I have. >=D
