Buzzards:
I checked the rhythms, and you're mostly right about those, but damn. Why are you guys so jackophobic? There's no av-misses anymore, and jacks shouldn't be hell to hit on any style unless you're really bad at them. Pretty much every single one of those jacks has musical justification, and you're crazy if you think I'm removing the ones to the bass blasts. Oh and jimerax: the varying patterns on the 64ths keep it interesting. Just having huge rolls would be lame. My Holiday Dinosaur: Come on bluuuu ~<3 Doesn't matter, we're getting new judges, so you don't have to reexperience this. Will look into this.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
If you slow it down, I guarantee you will see it's pitch relevant. I literally spent hours on the PR alone.
I don't mean to be disrepsectful or arrogant, as I've said more than once myself that I didn't expect it to get in and I was just waiting to see what I needed to work on, but the PR just can't be something I need to work on. I don't see how it's possible. I've went over it three times since the batch notes and every note is PR in the areas suggested for improvement. Maybe the judges played by ear? If you anaylze it, I guarantee you, you will see. Again though, don't get me wrong; I was actually hoping I could have a chance to add a couple arrows and take out the stupid arrows at the end of the file (which is what I think led to the comment about the fade-out being too long; it's supposed to end at the fade-out). |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
This is why I explained myself in my post, but I'll say it yet again: I didn't expect the file to get in. I said I didn't expect it multiple times. It's not really the issue. The issue is that I literally have no idea how to make the corrections the judges want because the file IS pitch relevant. The whole thing.
I'm not being defensive about the rejection, because, like I also said in that post, I'm sort of glad I can go back and change a couple things here and there. Don't make me out to be a whiner, please, that's not what this is about. Read my whole posts; this isn't the first time this has happened to me in this thread. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Can I see the file?
I'm just saying, chances are, the judges, jimerax and blu, know more about PR and whatnot. Still they could have made a mistake or whatever I guess. of course i really don't want to say this but a good reason that you are so sure of yourself is that you're an alt hehe :X

Robertsona, you continue to humor me, haha. To humor you in return, I actually do have an alt, but it was created after this account. This account is indeed my first.
And yes, I'd be thankful if you looked the file over. |

edit: ok, I see what you're talking about. For the 3 sets of 5 consecutive 16th jumps, I don't think jumps on the 8ths and single 16ths fit. Could I do something like x23x 1xx4 xx34 12xx x23x

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
zybanthia: you're getting defensive at my comment... yet my comment was saying that i didn't play your file. so i have no idea if your file was PR or not, or how you should change it. that's for blu and jx to tell you. they played your file and obviously neither one gave it a high enough rating for it to get to my desk.
for file submissions: you are allowed to submit at most 2 new files and 3 total files, unless you have permission to submit more (those who have permission know who you are for the most part... generally if you have to ask, you don't have permission). the exception is that if one of your files was played by me and not queue'd, it does NOT count against your 3. so for Halogen, all those files of yours i played (like twelve) that weren't queue'd... those do not count towards your 3. you can submit those and up to 3 total more. still no more than 2 new files though... just more resubmits.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Personally, I thought Zybanthia's file was really good and fun, just needed a bit of variation as it progressed a la climax theory.
The only reason I +?'d it was because I saw how awesome it could be if you just added a bit. Regardless of the PR, I didn't notice mistakes but my ear isn't as good as jx's.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Sorry Tass, but as you'd responded to me sans any knowledge of the file itself, I simply used your quote as an opening to my explanation. Sorry it was a bit confusing and seemed as if I'd directed any defensiveness towards you.
See this is more of what I was expecting, haha. Yeah, following PR so closely without regard to other changes, it can be a bit repetitive, so as one of you suggested I'll see if I can somehow change up some layering. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Okay, I'm at a point where I'm almost ready to say screw this, almost along the same lines of Starshot.
So my version of the Sparta remix, which is almost identical to hi19's but harder, was rejected for reasons I still don't get. Fine, I can deal with that. But this latest rejection... leaves me at a loss for words. It seems that if a judge decides that this certain sound needs an arrow or that this is too easy/too hard/too unique/too repetitive, then it's rejected. It's a bad cycle. You want fresh, innovative charts, and yet stick with rigid guidelines that it seems only the "favorite sons" can meet. It wouldn't hurt FFR to get more independent music in. I've actually made efforts to secure you guys the rights of new artists. Doctor Steel, The Consortium of Genius, Funtastic Power, etc. However, it seems all FFR is for now is the same main artists. DJ Sharpnal and the lot is fine, but what happened to the days where we actually had real independent music like Excluded? Simfiles are like a form of art to me, and it seems that the judges tend to act somewhat elitist like a gallery critic. Will I regret making this post later? Probably. But right now, it needed to be said. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
BDN - yeah jacks are sometimes going with the same instrument technically, but overall jack placement and some 64th patterns are just overdone and un-fun for me.
Zybanthia - It seems PR for minijacks and most 8ths/12ths are alright but felt some trills and runningmen don't fit the pitch (minor issues). Real problems for me are kinda underlayered 8th parts, also just putting random jumps on 8th melody is boring and they could be more fun. and fix the ending. Coolgamer - not sure about bad cycle or something, but seeing as both of us rated your files like 2, it's not just judge's personal preference. and batch notes don't always have all reasons for rejection. also I highly recommend you to have someone check your files before you submit.
