Yeah, Squeek is right. I knew this before because I made an Archer after researching, but big damage STILL looks cool. [/firemage]

Can anyone explain how I went through the Kerning City sewers, came to the Deep Forest dungeon, and ended up in Perion? O_o
I seriously have a bad sense of direction. I feel like Ryoga now. ![]()

I love knockback, though. I hate when I do enough damage to knock back and it doesn't happen because it's spread of 2 shots. Lame as hell, I say.
I would still go for double shot, though. And how could they possibly test both and be exact about it unless they had one guy who had maxed both? And if that was the case, I wouldn't listen to anything that guy said.

If they made 2 characters with identical stats and identical equips, they could test both.

Thanks guys. The only problem now is that I go through my arrows way too fast. I'm still pretty weak with my bow, so I'm using a double hand axe for melee. Geeze, can't wait to max out critical shot and double shot...

Archers should generally melee until they're ready to use a bow. It'll be a while. Most guides say to get to your level 30 strength requirement (35 for Hunters and 30 for Crossbowmen) and then just add Dex from then on while meleeing. They also say to add 9 Focus first so you can use MP for relatively meaningless things during the melee stage.
Usually, you wanna start using a bow around 20. Use the 20 bow or the 22 crossbow. And in regards to knockback, they even said DS was better for KBing on that WW since the two shots had a better chance to hit a high number than AB. ~Squeek |

Hello, lvl 40. How are you?
Pretty crappy? Why is that? Oh it's because you're a cleric and still do weakass damage and the only thing you're good at is healing and not using potions.

Hello, lvl 40. How are you?
Awesome? Why is that? Oh it's because you're a fire mage and still do way too much damage and the only thing you're not good at is healing. --- Actually I'm still level 39. |

Chromer the place where stirges are most commonly found is in the Dark Cave that is somewhere after Ant Tunnel IV I think. Either way it's quite deep in you just walk and walk and walk until you see em trust me you'd be squealing in joy when you find them and you can nearly camp there forever cuz 24 hr store just a couple of portals away and the stirges pot drop rate is friggin high

I completely forgot about critical shot and the fact that it's twice as likely with double shot. If it weren't for that, though, blow would be better in ways. Taking critical into account, however, yeah, definitely, double shot all the way.
20% of the way to 44. I can't decide if I wanna go attack mushmom now or if I should wait until 44 and go own a bunch of moms. I'll prolly just hang around Ossy and get more horns to give to my warrior, then send him back to Ellinia for storage and fight stuff while I'm there.

Pad, try at 45 with your Arc Staff. Remember to have Magic Guard on and a lot of MP potions that can bring it up a heck of a lot.
EB, the best part is the third job archer skill "Strafe", which has FOUR chances to critical. Then again, Hermits get Shadow Partner for their 4 shots, but hey! The partner does less damage than a second Lucky Seven, so it's really costing you money each star it uses! Think of it this way. Two Lucky Sevens, regardless of how long they take to throw, deal damage x2 twice, so x4. Shadow Partner is 50% damage at best, so it's like adding 1/2 and 1/2 to make a whole, so x3 when used with Lucky Seven from the character as well. But Strafe is like an upgraded Double Shot. More damage, more hits. Still works with Soul Arrow, and it's a really fast attack. That's why I have a crossbowman. ~Squeek |

So should I be a crossbowman or a hunter? I was asking around in Scania and people were saying hunters were a lot better because of that stun arrow attack in the second job (sorry, forgot the name). I don't really know what to be, and I should decide soon so I know what kind of arrows to make and the like.

It's a tough decision to be honest. They are really similar classes.
Hunter - Bows cost more, attack slightly faster, cause less damage, Arrow Bomb to Stun. When you're a Ranger, you exclusively get Fire Arrow and Arrow Rain. Crossbowman - Crossbows and their scrolls are cheap, attack slightly slower, cause more damage, Iron Arrow to hit 6. When you're a Sniper, you exclusively get Ice Shot (freezes!) and Arrow Eruption. AE and AR are practically the same thing. http://www.hidden-street.net/characters/bowman.php ~Squeek |

Refills on stars are little cost. I don't even consider them a cost. Yes, you need multiple sets so you don't go back each time. But by that level, you'll have mastery at 19 which is +190 to each set. If you're like me, 2.5k stars is fine. I'd hold at least 4 sets of 1190 stars at that level though, to last longer from having to hit enemies more per kill, plus getting the shadow partner.
I'd like to get back into this game soon.. but ugh.. I really don't like the idea of spending 160+ hours to get to level 70... -__- |
