Re: Best file ever?
Yes yes yes 100%. A person's taste in music will have an affect on how they value the simfile for sure. I don't fancy japanime sims for this reason I think =(

http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...d.php?t=124959 ps. thanks for the reply, Dynam0! part of me agrees with that, but another part of me thinks that really good files can transcend the music and enhance it to some degree: for example, something like the Automodellista OST is something that I wouldn't have enjoyed listening to in my own time, but after playing files like Cruisin' and In The Light, I developed a bit of an appreciation for the actual song itself. same goes for the many many many anime files out there: I know more about anime than most of my friends despite never having watched a single episode of anything. thanks, Stepmania! |

Re: Best file ever?
i think the question of the OP was a file that was universally OK, not your favorite personal

Re: Best file ever?
On the other end of the spectrum outta curiosity, how many new players who joined the game fairly recently that appreciates older files more than the current-gen ones? I think there are a couple players as such here.. (I'm not though)

Re: Best file ever?
nostalgia value plays a huge factor in older file bias.
some people grew up with files just based on scoring with no attention to detail while others were introduced to simfiles that were carefully crafted for visual appeal and relevance.

Re: Best file ever?
I grew up with ODI2/Red Fraction era stuff and I still think that newer files are more fun. It really depends on how nostalgic you are for the past, I guess (why would I be nostalgic for an era in which my files were all trashed lmao).

Re: Best file ever?
I could say the file that someone made for Amateur... I could pull up the version of 300 that was stepped by Hiryuu (for sake of that version coming out first)... I could also say Hiryuu's Black, Eggman's FFFFF, that Queen of the Dark Horizons file... I could even pull up something current like Mercilessness Desperado, or even Firepower (The file that was released in one of the White Chancellor packs).
There is no best song... just some really good ideas. |
