However, not only is there literally zero effort to mention anything about any V2 not being a viable choice for a tournament file. (Source.) So you don't even have a ground on that front. Any issue is that the note hits a requirement that isn't specified anywhere, and that's why it was completely wrong to attach that note. Quote:
Also Choof, Halogen has already stated examples, so there's a history of it being done. Halogen has literally just admitted that I am right to have called out that note being completely inappropriate. Also Halogen, did you really just say I was being immature? Is it where I called what you said "the most stupid, mindless, and absurd fucking thing, I've ever seen attached to simfile notes"? Then follow it up with a point for comparison, which is something I've seen judges making an active effort, and I've been told, to not do anymore? A point I've had happen to me personally twice? For a file you've actually looked at yourself which makes the reference even stronger? Is it because I used abrasive language? Get over yourself - really. Trying to be the bigger man and walking away? Buddy, you didn't. You still said your piece. Try again. I called you out because what you said isn't fine, it's not ok, and Kayla, there isn't a public justification for it to be not acceptable for an official based on the reason cited. The file is not strong enough to be in the official, I accept that. But that one particular note has no reason to be there. Oh, and to finish off: Quote:
Quote:
1. YEP. Totes is. 2. Oh a preference. SKIP. 3. Certainly hits the wide range, that's for sure. 4. Jumpgluts + Minijacks + Short Streams + mini trills + Speed. Check! 5. Not relevant. 6. Oh again, not relevant. So I certainly meet the requirements you've presented me with. In short, just get some better clarifications of what you're looking for, and make sure stuff is spelled out. Then you won't have this problem, although I will say, the unspoken "rule" that a V2 can't be a tourney file because a V1 is gated, is one you really ought to reconsider. PS: Quote:
Have a good one. |

Re: Official Tournament 13 Batch Notes
Honestly, I'm not going to get super into it with you, you've been around long enough to know that we've always reserved the right that if a file would not fit into the tournament for one reason or another it could be kicked out to another batch to be judged. A v2 to a song that is a part of the prizes for an event to me seems like it'd be a no brainer, but I'll say sorry for not spelling out literally everything. I have too much expectation of common sense I guess. From now on I'll take the time and marinate on every line for a few days to make sure I don't miss anything.
Also, he just put in countless hours to get this done and it's ridiculous to have to put up with this over ONE LINE he put in his notes. Just move on.

(For those of you that were around during the last OT, think of this as a reprieve for my poor approach towards judgment last time that caused things to stagnate for a long time. A redemption of sorts.) I'm not going to be tactful towards you anymore because you are clearly too self-centered to realize that you're bitching about a minor disagreement over a single line of notes, so I'm just going to go right the fuck out and say it: As of this moment, I legitimately could not be bothered to care any less about you as a content creator, nor the creations that you have made to the game, with the piss-poor self-centered attitude you have. Kindly get over yourself, take whatever it is that continues to be up your ass out of it, and fuck off. Last edited by TC_Halogen; 06-25-2020 at 12:25 PM.. |

Re: Official Tournament 13 Batch Notes
Man, I feel with that last post it's starting to become nitpicky from one side and straight up hostile from the other. Aren't we adults that are all here for the same reason, to get awesome files and music into the game?
People are going to be sensitive about their work sometimes, cool off and solve it in a private conversation or something. Last edited by M0nkeyz; 06-25-2020 at 12:47 PM.. |

I've no shame in admitting my hostility. I was deliberately so. If people have a problem with it, oh well - I guess.
Everyone else has been respectful in communicating disagreements, and I appreciate that. But I'm not going to sit here and continue to be walked over, either. You guys have all been amazing through this process in terms of being patient and working with criticisms. I don't claim to be this upstanding community figure anymore and have run out of shits to give about my public perception. I'm just trying to help and do a job. That's all that matters to me. |

Re: Official Tournament 13 Batch Notes
2 left and they're both Halogen's files. All that's left are the CQ fixes. And easy batch is suppose for the lower difficulties.

Re: Official Tournament 13 Batch Notes
Easy batch was just a general easy batch that we'll pull from if needed but I think we're actually okay. Not sure 100% yet but I have some lower stuff already in place.

- improved PR in opening 8ths 31.927 to 51.647: sharpened the patterning up here to follow the drums a bit less ambiguously 56.718: done 1:25.568: added jump 1:28.626: i'd initially left this out because it's noticeably more subdued than the other instances, but upon second look i think it's better & more consistent with this as a jump; fixed 2:01.032: done 2:10.974/etc: ooh i like this, thanks for the suggestion! 2:29.287: done, and reworked the patterns around this area (8th jumptrill is now split, lead-in is a little different) 2:44.351: moved the last note of the four repeating off 1 2:54.472: I don't hear this at full speed; left this out 2:54.537: Fixed 3:17.885: fixed 3:18.994/3:19.125: no clue how i missed these; fixed 3:47.074: yup. added this in Extra changes: 3:01.162: made some rhythms a little more accurate here and in a couple other places close by 3:51.558: turned this into a jumpjack Not gonna lie, now that I look at this again I kind of wish I'd redone the whole ending before sending it in. But whatever, I'm happy with the rest of the file. Thanks for the notes!

Re: Official Tournament 13 Batch Notes
Updated Benson & Hedges (Venetian Snares Remix). IDK how to multi-quote, so here's some dumb formatting of the concerns I had with some of the notes below. Any unmentioned notes are those that I've addressed in this 2nd draft. Number (1-7) is AJ's notes, XXX is my thoughts.
Benson & Hedges (Venetian Snares Remix) (ositzxz369) [7.5/10] Artist: Shitmat -- Perms: OK (1.) - 12.960: the three repeating 8th notes are a recurring theme (12.960, 14.355, 15.751, 18.541, ), but it’s really hard to understand why the third repeat is there in most instances, as only the first two notes are really audible over the percussion. Additionally, your PR can be improved if you’re going to actually represent those pitches as a part of your structure. XXX - Made an attempt to address 12.960, 14.355, 15.751, 18.541 (and also the unmentioned 31.098, 32.493, 33.889, 35.284, 54.819, 56.214, 57.609, 1:00.401, 2:00.401, 2:04.413, (After this, I lost count of the other spots that had this issue – but I did address them). Hopefully I assumed correctly on what u meant by saying the “third repeat”. (2.) - 36.941: I hear what this is following, but it’s definitely tough to hear at 100% rate; might be worth reducing/removing. XXX - Do u mean this one arrow OR the 32nds between 36.854-37.203? I’m currently assuming the former. (3.) - 1:00.576/1:01.186: another opportunity for strong instrument relevance - if you change the [D]-[R] mini-trill to an [u]-[R], then the pattern at 1:01.186 is a continuation because they both use the same instruments (and are tied to the same arrows) XXX - So 1:00.576 and 1:01.186 aren’t EXACTLY the same noise, but I’ll still do ur suggestion. (4.) - 1:05.895: ghost note XXX - Nope, this one note is part of the subtle flute background. (5.) - 1:13.134/1:13.221/1:13.308: these three notes correspond to snares, and those same snares play at 1:13.831 -- these are opportunities to really tighten up your chart structure and maximize the flow against the music XXX - Not sure wat ur suggesting I do here. I’m assuming I was being inconsistent on the patterning of these two snare triplets, so I’ll attempt to fix that. (6.) - 2:14.180/2:18.366: missing jump for kick (you do them at 2:12.785 and 2:12.959) XXX - I was aware that 2:14.180 (and also 2:18.366) was supposed to be a jump, but I white-noted it b/c I didn’t want to make a 16th mini-jack off a mini-jumpglut (e.g. [12][14], where the [14] is a different sound from the preceding [34][12][34][12]). For 2:18.366, the same white-note logic was applied here, but now I relistened to this section again and just noticed there was 3 pitch changes instead of 2 (basically one more jumptrill transition), so please rejudge this small section if time permits. (7.) - 2:33.715: since you’re working with a drum solo and not any sort of melody, you can afford to mix up the patterns a bit while still keeping the relevance - a simple mirror for the repeating drum patterns will make this feel a lot less dull XXX - Gonna need an example of a "mix-up'd pattern" for this one. If “a simple mirror” means stepping a descending sound as an ascending pattern, I’m not comfortable with that. Last edited by ositzxz369; 06-26-2020 at 01:50 PM.. |
