and yeah i was scratching my head at what to leave up for a freedom dive WR and perhaps stupidly left the AAA score with like 77 perfs or w/e |

Re: Did anyone ever AAA Superluminal?
I think the only score that was left up in the world records and is not actually a world record according to MIGS is Puppet's 0x1311 (leonid AAA-ed some time ago iirc, but it was not listed in the WRs), but I don't know if it's because Dynamer didn't know how to revert it or not back then or what lmfao.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing two scores for WRs, especially for songs such as FREEDOM DiVE or Superluminal. Last edited by EzExZeRo7497; 02-5-2013 at 08:15 AM.. |

Re: Did anyone ever AAA Superluminal?
People who grew up on FFR instead of SM don't have the same habits as we others do even though many are physially way more capable, veteran sm players have developed mindblocks/habits on files liek this that we played for many years, FFR vets starts with a clean slate when they play files like that
Not to be rude, but in all honesty I'm not really surprised a D6+ FFR player can do stuff like this |

Also I never saw WookE post an AAA on 0x1311. I do remember a derpy zero great score on his photobucket with a DDP though, I think it was 70s. |

Re: Did anyone ever AAA Superluminal?
Alright I'm going to be only one man enough to call bs but rah sorry bro. I slowed down that video and did a frame audio comparison and your key taps are off enough in some places that you're barely even in the perf window most notably at 2:37:49 and 1:29:33
Try harder next time |

Re: Did anyone ever AAA Superluminal?
If you want a (nearly) foolproof way to maximize chances that your video is not BS (this isn't aimed at Etienne but just in general):
1. Show AI.ini and Stepmania.ini or whatever it's called. 2. Briefly go through the relevant spots of your theme metrics files, since it is not hard to move aside things like autoplayCPU display 3. Show in-game settings / key mappings. This also helps show that you aren't botting (although SM bots are much much harder to write than FFR bots) since the bot needs to use those mappings too -- and you can't play along on the same keys as the bot without getting shit results due to doubletapping. 4. In-song, show that autoplayCPU can be turned on and off with the same key and that it indeed works as designates in the previously-shown AI.ini file (doesn't have to be anything rigorous -- ideally you should set AI.ini to something like all Goods/Boos to drive the point home and clear up any possibility of using it in some underhanded way). 5. Show that you have control over the inputs. i.e. during any quiet spaces/lulls in the song or before/after the song, just tap randomly so you can see the receptors move in turn. 6. Doing keytap-to-sound analysis tends to be shoddy. Once, I actually made something like 20 separate videos of myself -- some that were legitimate, some me playing along to a bot. Most of the time I couldn't really tell the difference. Sometimes I thought I was clearly off when I wasn't, and I also found that certain plays that I was sure were correct were actually mad BS. Unless you fuck up and make a really obvious mistake, don't rely on such analysis as being solid. 7. Have a clock running in the background / use time.gov to show that everything's in sync. 8. EDIT: Another way to tell if someone is botting: No late arrows, ever. It's very hard to make your bot accurate, realistic, fit your hit distribution, AND occasionally be late (as detection metrics need to lean a bit on the early side of things). Blah blah blah blah, etc. Doesn't have to follow this exactly, but this covers most cases and leaves little room for BSitude. Last edited by Reincarnate; 02-5-2013 at 01:00 PM.. |

Re: Did anyone ever AAA Superluminal?
A mad scientist is working on a way to bot STEPMANIA
edit: DR Etienne (:< naw but I can believe his score, a person with horrible pa like mine can still get 20-30s average on this file with a few cbs. AAA from some one of his ability is more than capable. TRICKY but comprehensible Last edited by V-Ormix; 02-5-2013 at 01:04 PM.. |

Re: Did anyone ever AAA Superluminal?
I've already made an SM bot (and it works very well) but of course, if I were to follow the steps I just outlined above, there'd be no way I could actually use it.

Re: Did anyone ever AAA Superluminal?
Nah man, it's not like that, I just don't think that kind of audio analysis is precise enough to be conclusive.
