Re: badman7772's Post-OT Wild Card Tournament
haha hey, an excuse to aaa songs i should've already done so with! as for the bonus 1, sonic 1 final zone holds a place in my heart, as it was one of the first songs i played all the way back when, and i remember i would be the annoying dude in multiplayer making people play it all the time. that and three ring nightfall. |

Re: badman7772's Post-OT Wild Card Tournament
Bonus Round 1:
Aim Burst is not only my favorite file of all time - but the song itself as well. It was the song that got me to start REALLY attempting to get better at jumpstream and what's led me to play SM packs like Nuclear Blast and any and all IcyWorld/hi19 files from here on out. It's always held that spot with me and I have NEVER AAA'D it to this day. It's the "Song that got away" so to speak xD One day...... current best is a Blackflag |

Re: badman7772's Post-OT Wild Card Tournament
Will try the bonuses later. Here is my tournament submission in the meantime:
Bonus 1: I picked EHHS (specifically this chart for it) because this chart was a gateway for me in many respects. For starters, when I first came across the chart I played one handed. Getting completely wrecked by it many moons ago (not able to pass even the first 10 seconds) made me go to the forums for the first time and learn about spread. Also, at the time I pretty much only listened to rock and metal. This song and chart introduced me to Sharpnel - which then exposed me to various other genres. Finally, it was my Oni get back on Christmas day 2010. Last edited by tosh; 09-11-2021 at 08:39 PM.. Reason: Added bonus 1 |

Re: badman7772's Post-OT Wild Card Tournament
I choose this as my D5R1 song AND as my Bonus 1 submission. The background is a field of :vs:. I chose Epidermis as my song because it's from Venetian Snares(VS) and it's a file that has the tournament-appropriate difficulty rating of 70. All my favorite VS songs either (1.) sound super weird to the casual music listener or (2.) sound like a total fast-paced nutty banger. Epidermis fits both 1 & 2. Also watch mi40's beautiful rendition of Epidermis - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Fr1tPeIjY4. There was no YT link for Epidermis v3.

Re: badman7772's Post-OT Wild Card Tournament
Let me know if that replay doesn't show correctly or if the link is wrong or whatever, not used to replay links cuz I'm an old fart and haven't been in the forums for probs 8 years lol. (Here's a link directly to profile? Maybe that's a helpful thing? https://www.flashflashrevolution.com...replay/434268/ ) Massive lol's, I couldn't read it at all, but appreciate the incentive to finally try downscroll. As for my favorite song in game, this is REALLY hard for me to choose. I sat here and thought of Cirno's Perfect Math Class, Magical 8bit Tour, Ievan Polkka (Rin & Len ver.), even Makiba became a new top choice. But not only is this a favorite song in the game, I think this is the best chart in FFR. Not everyone will agree, but it is so smooth, perfectly mapped, even the color gimmick(s) are spot on. I AAA'd it a very long time ago on my original account and hope I can AAA it again soon, despite my skillset kind of shifting after many years of inactivity. Increased reward of Bonus 2 from 2,000 to 3,000 credits. Reward if you win your division for said bonus will stay the same.

Re: badman7772's Post-OT Wild Card Tournament [Round 1]
Just having fun hitting 0-framers in the middle of jacks, don't mind me.
Bonus 1 It's simply the hardest song I AA'd on Etterna in terms of stream density so, I tend to always come back to it as a benchmark. Not doing very well here for various reasons, but song is fun I swear. Bonus 2 I have no muscle memory for downscroll so I just picked the song with the most jumps, swapped to positive offset and tried to anticipate, but yeah. replay: https://www.flashflashrevolution.com...replay/434275/ |

Re: badman7772's Post-OT Wild Card Tournament [Round 1]
Hey there, had a fun evening so far.
Bonus1: Fav choice because i actually enjoy a lot of disturbed, even with being a meme song it's good stuff, and the message of parental abuse. Along with being a map i can actually read an array of jacks on correctly without boos, perhaps this song may be rated to hard, or i can just read this style of chart. It's fun and I look forward to AAA'ing this one day. (and one day, Indestructible and Inside the fire) Bonus 2: https://www.flashflashrevolution.com...replay/434277/ I play upscroll like a normal human being, so playing downscrool was weird

Re: badman7772's Post-OT Wild Card Tournament [Round 1]
Round 1 placeholder, I can AAA this again when I'm not so tired:
For Bonus 1 I'm choosing Hellbeat, because when I first played FFR I genuinely thought it was a joke file that was meant to be impossible to play. Now I still have a lot of room for improvement but I can at least FC Hellbeat on a good day, and it's not nearly as impossible as I thought: For Bonus 2, all my reflexes are wrong on downscroll (28-0-1-6 on Drizzling Rain): https://www.flashflashrevolution.com...replay/434278/

Re: badman7772's Post-OT Wild Card Tournament [Round 1]
R1
Bonus 1 I love how it tests a wide range of skillsets in less than 2 minutes, including minijacks, jumpgluts, double one-handed trills, mini-jump-jacks on one hand and on both hands, and bursts. When this was first released, it was too hard for me but I wished I could be good enough to play this song. When I came back to FFR 7 years after I left, I was glad to be able to get much better scores. It was even my Scarhand candidate after I got 1-0-0-1 on it. Although it didn't give me Scarhand, I managed to AAA it later and made it my first AAA on difficulty 86. Bonus 2 - 300 raw goods lmao https://www.flashflashrevolution.com...replay/434279/ |

2x alt. Perceived difficulty is around D3-4, but it will quickly rise up to D7 in future rounds.

Re: badman7772's Post-OT Wild Card Tournament [Round 1]
Round submission:
I very much underestimated how much harder downscroll is for me, but I'm glad to see everyone else struggling with that too lol. Here's that: https://www.flashflashrevolution.com...replay/434283/ Finally, my favorite song. Though there are a lot of songs that I like the sound and files for much more than this one, but this one holds a special place in my heart. Like the files many others have chosen, this is the file that I feel most pushed me to improve at the game. One of the first things I did when I started playing this game was look for songs that I might recognize, and out of those few, this one stuck out to me the most. Black is from such an iconic moment in Homestuck, and I really wanted to get to a point where I could play it well. So every now and again, I would play it to see where I was at. Slowly, my score improved more and more as I became better at the game and more confident in the patterns. Eventually, I realized that the difficulties I was playing at were in the 70s, and I really had gotten to a point where I could competently play it. These days, the AAA just escapes me, but its reassuring to see how a goal I thought was impossible toward the beginning of my journey is now just something I'm confident I'll get one day. |

Re: badman7772's Post-OT Wild Card Tournament [Round 1]
Round 1:
Bonus 1: This was one of my favorite songs to play when I first started with ffr (and played 1 handed). I had a pretty long period of inactivity (2013-2020) where I only logged in for maaaybe a day or two each year, and somehow this was always the absolute first song I'd play during any of those sessions. Bonus 2: https://www.flashflashrevolution.com...replay/434291/ I cannot play upscroll literally at all. Despite my best attempts to wrangle my settings into something more comfortable, basically every attempt was glorified mashing. |
