Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
how's it going
RATO wouldn't be accepted if it was a true dump. It's just too hard for most of people here and maybe bad for combo scoring system in terms of competition. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
I really just hate the rolls in RATO, that's it. They remind me of some of the rolls in Hajnal. I don't have fun playing RATO, but it's a synced file etc.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
That wasn't my point. My point was that some of the rolls and Hajnal are undeniably holds.
And don't get me wrong, I love Hajnal. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
No, none of those rolls should be holds you're an idiot. Would you like to show me which of those rolls was stepped to a continuous sound?

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
although i dont remember the song at all i wouldn't be in the least surprised if there were some bursts stepped to musical buzzes or something which technically would be represented better as freezes

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Not really, I just went through the file a few times. And even if so, I believe that if it's a ****ing roll, make it a ****ing roll, I hate it when people step freezes to that stuff.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
I understand the needs to step things like that in FFR because there are no holds, freezes, whatever you call them, etc and people don't want to "leave a sound out"... but I just really hate when people do that. gnr nailed what I'm talking about; there are a few musical buzzes that are represented by some wanky 48th rolls, and while the file really is fun, those always bug the crap out of me. It feels dumb trying to play a buzz by rolling on keyboard keys.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Well, technically, it shouldn't be a roll OR a freeze. It should be a Jack, and since a jack at that speed is just complete BS, I believe that a Roll represents it best. Whether it's in FFR or not.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
wait
how the hell does a rhythmically bullsh!t roll better represent an impossible speed long jack than a freeze

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread
Seriously, a jack? I'm glad I didn't take your criticism about how much I know seriously. A jack is when the same sound is played again and is separate from the preceding sound. A buzz is not separate at all, it is continuous. A continuous sound is a hold - you do understand that, right?

Because if the roll is there then it actually feels like you're hitting the sound, whereas a freeze is just. Holding it once, when there's more than ONE sound.

gnr, I wouldn't bother. Trying to discuss the technicalities of writing a stepfile with ninjaKIWI is obviously like trying to discuss sexual intercourse with a virgin.
