This is what I do when I play online. If I'm browsing the internet prior or on a computer at all once the opponent connects to my game I disconnect the ethernet cable from my laptop to avoid lag from AIM/firefox refreshes/other dumb progs.

My brother is usually on his computer tho. So I just limited his connection. Since he is ALWAYS on some stupid korean MMO I limited his connection, incoming and outgoing to half of the connection our ISP provides us. Anything more than that he hogs the entire network bandwidth. I told him this so he knows and agrees. I blocked all ports in the router from P2P things like limewire, incoming and outgoing. This is I didn't tell him cuz no matter what I tell him he tries to use limewire or some other illegal p2p thing.

And lastly My Wii setup is I'd say about 4 feet from my router.

My parents have a laptop but they don't do anything other use firefox so occasionally they'll be a little pause during gameplay. But it never disconnects or gives me button delay.

ok shamoo, how would i go about limiting connectivity and blocking unwanted use.
the wii i cant move and i think its about 8 feet from a thin wall and a huge mess in the closet

Well I use this on my bros computer to limit his internet usage.

It's easy to understand and install and uninstall.

To figure out my connection speed incoming and outgoing from my ISP, I just went to: http://www.speedtest.net/


But for ports I go into my router homepage. and that is pretty different from router to router so I cant really help you there.
