Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I am sure this has been said many times, but I just have to say it again.
First off, let me say that I thought I was good at this game. I have 5 starred every song in GH2 except Jordan and Six, and have gotten waaaay over the 5 star score on every song except Miserlou (10,000 over). Anyway enough bragging. I picked up GH3 today, and was incredibly excited to play. So I go through the first two tiers, five starring everything without any difficulty whatsoever. So... I then get antsy and decide I NEED to play Through the Fire and the Flames. So I unluck the song with the cheat, and take it to practice mode since I figured I wouldn't pass. Needless to say, that was the smartest decision of my life. This song is a completely different level of good. I think I got 77%.... but it sure felt worse than that. As someone previously said... the song is absolutely Godly. Anyone who 5 stars that song is a legend as far as I am concerned. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I beat every song on expert except for Raining Blood. I hate the ridiculous pull-off solo. Kills me even with star power!

Passed One, somehow. Now all that's left for me is Raining Blood. I don't think I'm going to be passing this anytime soon. Unless I start to get lucky and mash my way through that one part at the beginning.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Ok. Hard sucks.
Seriously, what is this? Medium was a walk in the park and I had trouble with the blue note until the 5th or 6th venue. Suddenly they need me to strum 16ths on "Hit Me With Your Best Shot"? What? As someone who used to play C1000 on Stepmania, it's obvious to me that this series needs speed mods. I can't read the notes because they're all way too cluttered. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
It was c1200 at one point but that was a bit too much for some songs.
I found the cheat for Hyperspeed mode. Hyperspeed 2 is about my speed. Still, I'm failing Tier 1 songs on hard. This is way, way too freakin' hard. It also feels like my hand is going to break. Human hands were not meant to be held that way. |

It works really really really really well. I picked up on it when my brother got pissed at me beating medium in a day on the original gh (took him a good week lol, but that was when we both sucked) and i was able to beat ILR&R and Thunder Kiss cuz i quickly picked up the fact that orange would not be reachable (comfortably, i have teh large fingers and there are GO chords in songs) if i anchored on green. and lol was about to tell you about hyperspeed. oboyoboy ftw. It is MUCH MUCH more comfortable to stretch your index to green then to stretch your pinky to orange. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Problem is my pinky is in enough pain just hitting blue and I'd rather not double-dip for it. I did the index-red before, but it just fell apart.
The other problem is that I can't manage orange and blue combos. Then those lead into other combos, which I screw up because my placement was messed up after failing the blue/orange combo. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I told you to use your first three fingers to fret. Pinkies are only for emergency cases (chords two notes apart, quick movement up/down the frets, etc.) Play on medium so you can get used to the hand positions, and then once you can 5-star most songs without breaking a sweat, move on to Hard. And yes, the jump from Medium to Hard is retarded.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Why are people using cheats to unlock TTFATF? When I beat easy mode to accumulate wealth when I started the game it gave me the song after playing it in the credits. It's available in all levels of difficulty in quick-play, career, and practice mode.

Sliding my fingers over that line on yellow will cause blisters. I can't do blue-green, orange-red, or orange-green with three fingers. I have to move my hand even more, which causes fatigue even faster. I already 5-starred most of the songs on Medium without any problems. That's why I'm annoyed that Hard is so ridiculously hard. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Is day-long hand numbness a typical effect when playing this game?

I'm an occupational typist, at the moment, and that game has done nothing but made my job hell.
