Middie makes a really good point, I definitely agree with that.
Especially because the WIP in that video seems to be very far along and have a lot of effort put into it.

In general, it's probably going to be impossible to find a VS song that someone hasn't at least tried stepping, if not made a file for. Just way too popular of an artist. I've liked that all the other artists so far have been a little more obscure.
The Protest the Hero song is somewhat more "mainstream stepman music" as well but it's quite fun to step and nowhere near as ubiquitous in this community as VS, I have no objections to it really.

Yeah. Protest The Hero is also the most challenging. You have to not only devise a good cut, but you also have to sync it. And syncing that probably isn't that easy. (Based on how long Animal Bones took to sync even with the BPM bases handed to me.)

Pretty much I see it this way:

You have layering / patterning / difficulty in VS
You have Sync / PR difficulty in Protest
You have PR / Gimmicks? In choice three.

It's a well devised final for sure in a way I'm probably missing.

I'm having a lot of fun with my song.

If My Love is a Bulldozer has to go, then Palms Read should go too.

It's had a chart on the DF engine for at least four and a half years, and oddly enough -- the person who gave the higher quality song cut (T-Force) also posted in the corresponding release thread on the Dragons Fury forums about how it was attributed to the wrong album all the way back in 2010. If the whole situation about people seeing a work in progress is going to be a situation, then surely a song that has been on a custom engine for as long as it has should be an issue as well.

All of the corresponding arguments are applicable for both files:

- how many people have seen the file (seen the file recently)?
- is the amount of the song charted relevant to the competition?
- is it necessary to remove either song with both songs having an unofficial existence?
