My account pin was changed by a hacker whom Idk...I check the rankings on mapleglobal and my character is clothless. I only lent my account info to three of my best friends in the game, they didn't touch it because I know their account info as well. I sent an E-mail of Inquiry to Wizet/Nexon. 95% chance they won't open it or do anything about it...

I'm done. I lost 2 mil, all my level 40 and 50 armor(mithril). My Eye of Fire which I was saving for my guild one day...and now it's all gone...

I was level 39.

I quit.

You lost nothing compared to what I lost when I got gayed. I got banned for absolutely NOTHING. I was making a Crusader and I was like 2 levels away from 3rd job and I had 10mil mesos + INSANE scrolled stuff I had bought for my IceLit mage and it ALL got banned. I played for 1 whole month and grinded like a mofo with my friend who had also made a warrior to become a Crusader and we BOTH got banned on the same day at the same time. Mental ****, I know. I was just a few levels than him and were had just finished doing 2 days worth of questing in Omega sector and Eos tower. All that insanely tiring work down the drain for nothing.

Anyways, level 39 is nothing to rebuild to honestly.

All game playing is a "waste". All that matters is that you had fun while you played, because no matter what you do, you'll come out of playing the game with having gained nothing but the memories of the fun you had.

The same principle can be applied to real life as well, but I won't get into that here.

Well, if it helps any, I've had a friend hacked at level 42, 51, 52, 53, 67, and 74 on the same character. She's lost her EW twice and about twelve mil total, 3 of which were mine.

Hacker situation: What the hell?

I've seen more and more of client-sided hacks, where they stay in one place, attack and hits all the monsters. Or, someone god modes at a place like HHG, stands there, and auto loots items not picked up in a certain amount of time (you kill a monster, dont pick up meso, after a while someone else can pick it up)

I haven't seen any other hacks though.

How the hell do you all get hacked so much :/

I'm passive aggressive against random people that I don't know, I have people yell and scream at me all day. I've never been hacked on my legit account(the lvl 52) or my hacking accounts(much, MUCH higher levelled).

This is probably just a password issue or you have some sort of thing tracking it and don't know it. You don't have to download hacks or porn to get keyloggers. Some viruses can come in IMAGES if the person can manage to get them in there, but it's pretty damn rare, and you may never encounter an image with a virus in it. Also, use hard PINs to guess. Don't do that 0000 crap my friend does, or 1337, or 6969, or crap like that.

my pin was 1942...not likely to be randomly guessed. Plus, a keylogger can't find out your pin.

Well, some forms of viruses can take screenshots from your computer, and that'd do it.

Of course I'm still playing. Who cares if I lost some stuff. It's a game. I did all that in a year, what can I do on one character in year?

I really don't like MapleStory that much, but it's not a terrible game.

It's not bad at all. The gameplay is pretty sweet and completely unmatched for a free game.

It just sucks. Leveling takes way too long. I'd never be able to accomplish my goal (all 13 classes at 4th job) within three years. That's sad.

Which is why I was looking for the status of the Private Servers. Right now it's looking like May-July 2007. It's not that nobody's interested--more like nobody has the available tools yet. There is a group who has been developing a downloadable and editable emulator for the game. Once that's done, the people who have servers available for hosting the game will release it with their modifications. So far, the prominent additions seem to be:

EXP multipliers (anywhere from 2 to several thousand)
Drop Rate multipliers (anywhere from 2 to several thousand)
Free Cash Shop items (whoo!)
Purchasable 10% and 60% scrolls from shops.
Scroll success rate edits (10%s work 95% of the time)
Purchasable equips from shops.
No level caps.

Not only that, but the ambitious hoster can make new jobs and maps. Perma-beginners aren't that far off any longer.

Once this comes out, I'll have to find a server for us all to play on and go nuts. All I've ever wanted to do is make at least one of each class (I say at least one because there are multiple builds I can try with good enough EXP rates).

I'm also kinda interested in playing inside a private server. It's pretty interesting, but you do have to look out for the fact that they could contain spyware/viruses/stuff like that. Other than that, private servers look pretty damn awesome.

Let's just hope that Wizet doesn't learn about the issue, and starts banning people who use private servers. I wouldn't expect them to get mad about that, but anyways, Squeek, PM me when our server is ready.
