Re: ODIPack3 submissions (May 18th deadline!)
i love you guys you're making this pack superawesome =)
necros, i won't postpone the deadline for several different reasons. get something done, for italy!! patashu i don't think i could possibly hate something like that, get to work Quote:
there is no minimum level of difficulty, but the easier your file is the better and more unique it has to be. the reason for this is that people who play competitively mostly play harder files, and there are already soo many easy files made over the years. for example a long <180bpm song with mostly easy 16th and a couple of drumbursts has been done so many times and doesn't have much replay-value to many reviews: can't hide your love didn't enjoy this very much since it didn't have good flow at all. the song is crazy and could be made really cool and hard, but right now so much is being left out and sometimes it's just easy 16ths that often times doesn't seem to got to much in particular. then sometimes you have 32nd bursts and jumpjacks that also comes in kind of random compared to how the other sections are being done. this kind of song could be made a lot better and a lot more consistently challenging. haereticus HARD. pretty simple but still was a bit unique and there are no other files like this one in the pack. accepted ignis fatuus hard and fun. i can see this being accepted thor's hammer haaaaaaaaaard. it needs to be changed a lot but i can see this being accepted as well. but it has a many obvious errors when playing and it's very inconsistently difficult and some parts could be made more interesting and fun. tsugihagi contruction didnd't like this and don't think many would enjoy it because it's mostly easy 8ths that are boring, and then there are 32nd bursts coming in that are superhard and has to be mashed. it's just not a fun concept for a file, you need to make the easier sections more interesting and the bursts can't be fully as hard. there were also lots of stuff left out and i think this could be made a whole lot better. the part with the jumps in the middle was pretty fun though

Re: ODIPack3 submissions (May 18th deadline!)
Can't make time for this. Way too much shit going on right now.
I do have the notes mapped out, so if anyone wants to take those and make a file, be my guest. http://www.sendspace.com/file/esphbb There are some errors (since I copy/pasted the synths from one of the songs it was a mashup of) but they're obvious errors. edit: The notes are mapped out to KB7 and solo, not 4key, so if you make that into a file you can just put the notes you want into the first four columns and convert using the editor or by opening the .sm file in notepad and changing "dance-solo" to "dance-single". Re: ODIPack3 submissions (May 18th deadline!)
it sucks to hear that some of you won't have time to finish your files but i can't postpone the deadline anymore, the pack is already huge and i don't want to postpone it, people have been waiting! i can just hope that you will find time in these last 8 days.
i also hope many of you who have files in purple will have time to make revisions, it should not take that much time since it's nearing the deadline i'm gonna start asking around for graphics, i have a few people helping me but we could probably use some more help, it's a lot of files. give me a holler if you can help out with this =) reviews coming later today

Re: ODIPack3 submissions (May 18th deadline!)
a0 vs nick, looking forward to that
reviews: fffff accepted. in the beginning i thought it was gonna be too boring and simple, but the file becomes progressively harder and more diverse in a really cool way. more and more cool stuff happens with less and less boring parts in between. it's cool that it's low bpm like this too, it's a pretty unique file. really like it empty skydiving damn that's loooong lol. pretty cool though, the level of difficulty is good for a file this long and it's pretty cool overall. the pack needs another monstermarathon and this one is nothing like the other marathons in the pack so far. might go through it and mail you some notes later street lethal guitar solo it gets pretty old with all the 32nds and 24ths. it's just solos in annoying patterns that still are easy all the way through and it's all just 24ths and 32nds, didn't like it too much and i feel like it isn't accurate in quite a few spots. you can never really get into any kind of flow when playing this because of all the color notes.. the cry of youth it has good tempo and flow and the patterns are good. but the file lacks a climax. the different 16ths parts get a bit boring and it's a shame that it doesn't build up to something more interesting. the end and the beginning parts have fun patterns to begin with but also gets a bit old as it looks so similar, i couldn't tell if it was accurate either. the stream in the middle is pretty cool but it would've been a lot better if the rest of the file was just similar 16ths rhythms all the time. if this was submitted in the beginning of the pack i would have given you lots of notes about how you should make it more varied and try to create a climax in the end of the file, but as of now the file has filled up it's quota of easy 16th files like this and i can't accept it. autoprocess (revision) really nice. accepted. decomposition theory of loneliness and love it's much too simple and uneventful. a long song with just easy 16th stream all the way through like this is not going to cut it. it would need some kind of build-up to a harder climax with something else than just 16ths, and it would also need a bigger part of it being at least in different rhythms (these things didn't exist in the song unfortunately), i kind of fell asleep playing this.
