That's reasonable, although why anyone would expect a great file from me when I have essentially never released a single file before (the two I have were terrible and I didn't know what I was doing).

Honestly, my priorities with this file were (in order):

1. make it hard but AAA'able
2. make it fun

I CAN make a quality file if I want, but I chose difficulty over quality this time. And apparently, it's impossible to have both in FFR.

oh and also, I don't think Kilga got this kind of response when he released Balloon Fever. Granted, it's not nearly as hard, but still.

Shash plain and simple stop trying to make it as hard as you can and making every single sound go to a note.

The problem is that it's not fun. I don't know how the hell ANYONE can read the long, stream of red arrows, but it's not fun to mindlessly mash. Maybe you don't know because you can read it just fine, but it's like playing Quasar Oni on 1x flat.

Are you ****ting me? That file is a total piece of **** even on Stepmania. He pretty much started the beggining of bull**** files. Then shortly after came Nova Pulser and all that garbage..

I'm being completely honest when I say that I don't think they go to the music at all.

I was more illustrating the point that I was going for difficulty over fun factor. They go hand in hand for me anyway, but not for a lot of people.

I honestly didn't expect it to be nearly as hard as it is. Then again, I didn't expect red note syndrome to happen either. I was honestly expecting that Tier 1 people would FC with good PA, that Tier 2 people would FC, and that other people would get some misses...not that Tier 1 would FC and that no one else would be able to read the file.

p.s. Talisman, they do, whether or not you think they do.

I grant you that there's like nonstop sixteenth notes going on in that song... but the arrows did not follow the pattern of the music.

Most of the file is 16ths (which are in the music) with jumps ever 4th note (also in the music) and on some other notes, but on all the other notes there's an exrta hard beat in the song.

EDIT: Oh, and if you're talking about the gap being off, it is, but again, that's not my fault ><

SERT: I'm pretty sure the file Jimerax submitted is differen than the one you're working on... I'm pretty sure the one you're working on is the same one that Psycho is working on. And apparently since you both are almost finished, I'll have 2 files for the same song to compare and then pick which one I think is better.

This is being way too picky for FFR. Pretty much every file on FFR is like that. Singling out Shash's is just bandwagoning.

yeah obviously there's a 4/4 kick in the background the whole time. that doesn't mean you have to step it. the sixteenths are not the same as the kick... if there's an emphasis in the sixteenth synth **** or whatever, then you put a double in. otherwise it's just trying to step too much at once and you end up with an unfun mess.

edit: at toja I'm picking on his because it's new. I did the same to the files I found ****ty earlier, and will continue to do so if I want I suppose...

The red arrows are the biggest problem.

It turns an annoying set, yet still possible set of steps into a ****ing retarded and stupid piece of garbage because I can't see anything. I really don't know how you can read it.

Somehow I still almost fc'd it XD

Hell, you know how you could fix SO MANY PROBLEMS with SO MANY FILES!??!!?

SPEEDMODS!

I realize you guys are working on r3 but are speed mods thatttttttttttttt hard to inpliment?

I mean, SPINITUP GETS SPEEDMODS and DOESN"T EVEN NEED THEM! XD

Yeah so I think we can all fix this problem by releasing Zagh's file next week.

I swear on the grave of my grandfather that that was a COMPLETE coincidence that I didn't even notice until after I FC'd it for the first time in SM.
