Video Game Mega Pack Reviews - part 1
Andy Asteroids (mac gravel) - synced and very funny, but not keysounded. this is not so technically proficient but well done. 8/10 Aquarius (the evil hobo) - quite well done but boring. some good passages and some very dull others. sounds forgotten sometimes. 5/10 Baby Baby (vospi) - after keys of flames submission you are emproved a lot. this file is synced very well, follows in a funny and original way all sounds. absolutely not boring. russian style owns. 9,5/10 Burnin' Noumander (zaghurim) - technically proficient and very well done. only a couple of errors in it. 8,7/10 Bury My Shell At Wounded Knee (zaghurim) - technically proficient but quite repetitive. one of the 10000 turtles in time songs in this pack. from the moment bursurk lurk relesed boss fight you get excited into making turtles in time songs. time to stop now. 7,5/10 however. Cat And Mouse (mac gravel) - cool song, not too much technically proficient but meant to be funny. synced and good file. bpm tricks are plus value. 8,3/10 Chip Trip (syrus) - an example of a bad file with a good gfx. ok, sync was good, but usage of jumps was VERY bad, stream was random, lots of sounds were forgotten. second category simfile, keep practicing. 4,4/10 Deadline (vospi) - simple and clean graphic, but file was quite strange. maybe you was limited by the song. you missed some sounds and file needed more jumps. this file sounds very strange to me. 6,8/10 Don't Be Afraid (danceguy117) - very good and technical file. needed an oni difficulty with weird 32nds. 8,5/10 Eat 'Em Up (psycho and whitey) - this file is very bad. sounds forgotten, wrong patterns, only graphic was good. but a good graphic do not improve a bad file. 3/10 Emerald Hill Zone (glove) - this file is tremendously bad. gap was a bit off, then using of jumps and holds was horrible (you forgotten to use a jump on a beat, or putted an hold where there was no hold-suitable sound). syncing only on the low notes make it bad to play, because it doesn't give the sensation to follow the sounds. 4/10 I have to met Silvia, so see you later with the remaining reviews. p.s. "the games we played" was terribly awesome. thanks aspergian. thanks bursurk lurk.

You shouldn't grade based on technical proficiency on a pack that has content that is dated somewhat by today's standards, and is more based on fun.
I'll be making a complete review and analysis though soon, since I'm extremely bored, lol.

Hopefully a worthy double post.
This is like, my first review EVER, lol XD Technical Quality 6/10 = Average, gets the job done. Art 6/10 = Average, expected from a simfile. Higher scores mean better general quality of the simfile, which can also mean better feedback. Fun Factor 6/10 = Satisfactory. Usually induces a yawn. Andy Asteroids- The song choice originally struck me as somewhat interesting. The steps themselves were complete and I don't think a better route could have been taken when it came to them. As for the simfile overall itself, I felt a yawn coming along here and there as it felt generic, but it got the job done. Nothing immensely special here, except that I hate crossovers with a passion, but you know that already. XD Technical Quality: 7.3/10 Art- A screenshot with scanlines over it, with the name. Gets the job done. 6.0/10 Fun Factor: 7/10 Aquarius- I really liked this track, and I tried my hardest to like this simfile too. I'm sorry though, but I would have taken a 'totally' different route with this one. Patterns were consistent yet awkward. There were spots where you nailed the jumps perfectly, and there were others that were like "wtf is there a jump here?" Errors here and there, the file was mediocre at best. Technical Quality: 4.6/10 Art- Attractive blue ocean and Macgravel's trademark scanlines (XD), with nice normal text to convey the song's name. 6.5/10 Fun Factor: 3/10 Baby Baby!! - Pretty awesome. Vospi did a really great job in creating the simfile for this song. The patterns were well chosen, with freeze arrows covering the guitar. Consistancy in the patterns and well placed jacks, shows mastery. I have very high expectations from the simfiles you make now, and you continue to deliver skillfully. I personally, would break from all the pressure. =) Technical Quality: 9.2/10 Art: Seems like it's official art from the game. Fits it well but the graphics just seemed slightly blurry/ugly to me, Unjammer Lammy is sexy though. 6.0/10 Fun Factor: 9.4/10 Burning Noumander- I'm a huge megaman fan- and I mean that- So I may be alittle biased towards this one, perhaps even more so since it is stepped from one of my favorite simfile artists. Let me start with the bad about it- Heavy should be an 11, not a 12 (Small nitpicky detail, but who cares.) I was also a bit put off by all the blank spaces, but I noticed you covered them in the oni with some cool jumps. Patterns were accurate for the most part it seemed to me, and were what I would expect from a Zaghurim file- I just wish the heavy wasn't so easy, and the oni wasn't so hard. =/ For me, it wasn't as fun as it could have been seeing as how I'm not exactly the most skillful SM player out there, but I still had quite a bit of a time playing it. Technical Quality: 8.8/10 Art: A render using the official art of burning noumander, blended in with fire in an ensemble of orange. Alright text using overlay technique. Did great even if the render was of somewhat poor quality, but that can't be helped when it comes to official boss art. 7.0/10 Fun Factor: 8/10 Bury My Shell At Wounded Knee- I'm also a huge TMNT fan LOL. Took me back when I heard this song. Now, I played the heavy version using index and found it to be difficult, but still very fun. I tried it again on spread and understood the patterns further and saw that they were indeed very consistent and spot on. Well placed jacks, and the same can be said for it's gay hard 15 foot oni version. Technical Quality:9/10 Art:Created by yours truly. I wasn't really sure exactly on what direction to take it and was confusing to get started on, but the end result was a bunch of abstract desert BS with some obvious text. XD Art: 8/10 Fun Factor: 8.2/10 Cat and Mouse- One of my favorite simfiles in this pack. The only gripe I really have about it is the gay beginning, but everything after that, seems perfect. The jacked up stops mid-end way through the song capture the chaotic nature of the song perfectly, and you still managed to stay on-sync. Again, its just the awkward beginning that kills it for me. Technical Quality:9/10 Art: Uses official art, and an ensemble of yellow and weird stuff. Text fits perfectly, as does the color choice for some reason X 8/10 Fun Factor: 9.4/10 Chip Trip- Inconsistent patterns and awkward transitioning. It wasn't too bad but this could have been definitely stepped better. Technical Quality: 4/10 Art:Gray background using attractive brushes and tech. Fits the song well, overall. 8.4/10 Fun Factor:4/10 Deadline- Did great given the limited possibilities the song provided for you. Minor inconsistencies in the pattern however, and you missed an arrow. =) Didn't bother me at all though, and you're right. Definitely an easy AAA/AAAA Technical Quality: 7.8/10 Art: Simple. Looks like official art? I've never played the game before so I wouldn't know. I felt it could have been darker than just orange though. Bland. 6.2/10 Fun Factor: 8/10 Don't Be Afraid- Felt a bit generic. I didn't understand the stream at the end, but you did good with the drums when it came to consistency, with an exception to when you chose to do freeze arrows at this one part. Also, I hate it when a simfile is over before the song ends, unless it is fading away or a good ending. Technical Quality: 7.5/10 Art: Outline of a chocobo over a black background with subtle purple brushing. Text matched the song well. 6.5/10 Fun Factor: 7.5/10 Eat Em Up!- A technical disaster, yet despite the many apparent errors, I still had a lil fun time playing it. Lots of freeze arrows made me go WTF, missing arrows, magical arrows that went to nothing- My simple and clean d'n'b remix was more technical than this- BUT...Yeah, it's decent. Technical Quality: 1/10 Art: Pac-man over some abstract background, with text that matched the song well. Macgravel stole my idea about the pac-man overlay though XD 7/10 Fun Factor:7/10 Emerald Hill Zone- Technical errors galore. You did good with some freeze arrow choices, but others felt terribly long or out of place. Very inconsistent with the patterns in that manner. I also felt a couple 16th jumps that didn't really belong, and some were missing, but I suppose that was a choice made on your own behalf, being a spread player. With those bad points set aside, I had a rather fun time playing this on spread. Also, I've never seen any work of yours prior to this, but it still left me with a good impression. Enjoyable for spread players who are simply playing for fun, but a wreck for technical buffs and index players. Technical Quality: 4/10 Art: Pretty manipulation of the original stage background from Sonic 2, with green text. Matches the song very well overall, and generally makes the complete simfile package very attractive to people who play for fun. 8/10 Fun Factor:6.8/10 Eyes Of Flame- Patterns were okay if not questionable. There were a couple freeze that made a question mark appear over my head, until I just figured that you just switched up the manner you held the freeze arrows. In that case, the transitioning was a bit confusing, and it didn't help that I hated the song. The song is just ugly...Maybe it's just my speakers, but I seriously hate this song. Technical Quality: 8/10 Art: Nice self-created background that is a trademark of most of Exige's work, but put down with the most hideous render I have ever seen. 6/10 Fun Factor:6/10 Fever- Well placed jumps and jacks, with the freeze arrows being consistent. The simfile was enjoyable overall and the sudden stops only sweetened the deal. The single gripe I have about it, is that ****ing bs stop at the end... Which was of course, obviously on purpose, so rather than make it a gripe, I'll turn it into a praise, you ****ing clever asshole. XD Technical Quality: 9/10 Art: DR.Mario stuff and some pretty colors, with Macgravel's trademark abstractness. 8.4/10 Fun Factor: 9/10 Final Battle (MM3)- Copy paste is all that this song was- It was just really repetitive, and there wasn't really much more you could do to this song to make it better. Patterns were accurate, and thats about all I could say about it. Fun to try to AAA or AAAA though. Technical Quality: 7.5/10 Art: Photoshop brushes with blue tint, and awesome NES styled text with a render of a sprite used in the game. 7.5/10 Fun Factor: 7.6/10 Final Boss (S&K)- Another one of my most favorite simfiles coming from this pack. Choices in patterns were splendid, even if they were predictable, and the song is just awesome. I probably would have done something different about the beginning pattern though. (the 4286 and 6842) Technical Quality: 8/10 Art: In-game screenshot of the death egg boss which has been blurred a bit, over a subtle abstract background, with the text conveying the title of the game and the song. 6/10 Fun Factor: 8.6/10 Flak's Theme-Pretty fun, cool song. Patterns were done as expected and I couldn't really pick out any blatant errors from this one. End stream was fun too. Technical Quality:9/10 Art: Grisly abstract work over a flak tank 8.4/10 Fun Factor:8.5/10 For The Savior- Well placed jacks and jumps which were organized, with trademark stream depicting the drumrolls. Freeze arrows felt off to me at some areas however, but the file is a good one overall. Technical Quality:8/10 Art: A shining light with some auras and rays, and given the title of the song, it seems like a good fit. 7.6/10 Fun Factor:7.8/10 Galagzee- Really short simfile, lol. Transitions from the background beat to the synths at random times, and I couldn't follow the song well enough to figure out what the jumps in the stream went to. I sort of found myself actually wanting the song to end sooner than it did for some reason, despite it being short enough as it is. XD I guess it's not that bad though. Technical Quality: 5/10 Art: Space, a planet, a galaxy. What you'd expect- No galaga renders though, lol- Oh, and sup harry potter text. 8.2/10 Fun Factor:5.9/10 Ganon Slayer- FUN file. Not just saying that because it's my own either XD I just love the song. Patterns are focused on rhythym rather than technical perfection, which is apparent because an entire measure is off. (There is a part that should be 32nds instead of 16ths, it seems.) Technically it's not too great, and the sim can definitely be so much more. This will be remedied when I release a marathon version of it. lol Technical Quality:6.4/10 Art: Link is badass. Red = Blood. Your mom. 9/10 Fun Factor: 9/10 Giygas Battle- Pretty cool song, and the steps matched it very well. The speed-up took me by surprise, but the ladders are fitting. Fun to FC Technical Quality:8.4/10 Art: Trademark Macgravel stuff, but with an out of place and ugly render of an SNES sprite. =( 7.4/10 Fun Factor:8.6/10 Yeah, I'm pretty burned out now lol. I'll continue the review later.

Awesome review, unfortunately I havn't played everything I can't remember most of the songs I've played so I can't really comment on it but that looks really nice. My file is not good at all and it was actually my first file pretty much :P, so I'm very satisfied with a 6.8 fun factor
. Thanks to MacGravel for the awesome gfx.ps. Ganon Slayer is awesome hahaha

For a breakout sim, it's really good. =)
Alot better than my old, now deleted, uber-crap sims. I should release my old old rejected submissions LOL. Lemme think...There was plantman's theme, simple and clean d'n'b mix, powerfist (From unreal tournament), go straight (from Bare Knuckle 2), and destination blackout (from wangan midnight maximum tune or something). All of them were steaming oozing piles of doodoocaca.

Review - All files played on hardest difficulty
Andy Asteroids 4/10 - Really boring Aquarius 4/10 - Ploink ploink and random jumps Baby Baby 8/10 - Song was the worst thing ever, steps were pretty awesome Burning Noumander 9/10 - 8th jumps 8) Bury My Shell At Wounded Knee 9/10 - Left hand says: Ouch Cat and Mouse 7/10 - Stutterz, but generic Chip Trip 1/10 - rofl terrible Deadline 9/10 - I got a great on the last note wtf Don't Be Afraid 6/10 - Not enough jumps Eat 'Em Up 2/10 - Not fun at all and random minijacks on the jumps Emerald Hill Zone 4/10 - Failed to understand the concept of multiple rhythms ps hi Glove Eyes of Flame 7/10 - Random feeling, 6.5 rounded up because it's Cave Story Fever 5/10 - Boring for the most part but freezes so +1 Final Battle 5/10 - Missing jumps in the stream Final Boss 9/10 - Actually awesome rofl I thought it was going to suck Flak's Theme 8/10 - You used 64th notes so that makes 7.5 round up to 8 For The Savior 1/10 - 0.5 rounds up to 1 because its Lufia II, that file was so bad lmao Galagzee 7/10 - Failed to understand the concept of multiple rhythms but managed to have 24th notes and salvage 50% coolness points Ganon Slayer 8/10 - The steps were absolute garbage but the song was ****ing amazing and I got a great because I laughed at "dodongo dislike smoke WTF" Giygas Battle 6/10 - 6.5 rounded down because of random bpm changes and failure to understand time signature Happy Adventure, Delightful Adventure 10/10 - 9.5 rounds up for Super Mario RPG, wow how did you make this when your Chip Trip was so terrible, gj. Hats, Gloves and Overalls 2/10 - Failure to understand multiple rhythms in a huge way, and the song is like "i wanna be ssh but i'm rly rly weak so i can't compete :< i'm terrible at everything" Kabuki 1/10 - lmao this was so boring who would step this Last Battle 3/10 - 2.5 but rounds up because pokemon, it was just boring as hell Marbles 0/Hayden - Hayden already stepped it, you wasted your time, and mine too, I should have just played his. 0.5 rounds down to 0 because hayden stepped it. Metal Warrior 8/10 - 8.5 but rounds down because no 32nd notes and I have high expectations on your files Zaghurim. Some parts were absolutely brilliant, but one or two parts were just not so great, it pains me not to give this a 9. Metal Warrior 3 9/10 - Everyone who got "failure to understand multiple rhythms" play this file, and hopefully your next simfile will be better. Mimiga Town 7/10 - 6.5 but rounds up because it's Cave Story, it would have been better with mile long freezes. Odeo 7/10 - Needed more layering, but gj with the mile long freezes that moved it up from a 6 to a 7. Orc Theme 10/10 - panties Overworld 6/10 - -.5 for using NES theme instead of SNES which is the same thing but better quality its like using a keysounded file and 6.5 rounds down because not enough jumps. Palette Polis 3/10 - The file was fine, I just hated it huge amounts. Pyramid 4/10 - Nice bg (jk the bg was just as bad as the steps) Remodeling 0/10 - lmao random pattern changes, random jumps, everything went to nothing it was terrible Revival Day Impetus 7/10 - 7.5 rounds down because you were afraid to mix 24ths and 16ths (admit it) Robo's Theme 2/10 - Robo sucks cock and the file was boring as hell. Scars Left By Time 8/10 - Slightly random but had awesome freezes and triples Sewer Surfin' 8/10 - Remember when you said you were going to make Death Metal v2 and never did it. Simon 1994RD x/10 - lmao I actually quit before this song was over it was so bad. Six Feet Under 0/10 - I finished this one but I wish I didn't at the end I just started pressing random keys so I wouldn't fail, this was so bad it almost gave me a headache. Technodrome 7/10 - Fun in some parts but terrible patterns kind of Tetrinet 3/10 - Offsync 64ths, failure to understand multiple rhythms The Climax of the Tower 5/10 - Cool jumps, no climax theory and not enough freezes. It needed more triples too. The Games We Played 10/10 - Undoubtably the best file in the pack, my eyes lost focus in the middle and I got a miss which made me sad. Theme of Adol 6/10 - Maybe I'm just sick of playing these files, but despite this having lots of elements I like in a file, I didn't like this. Maybe just because I don't like your files in general. Mischief Makers ?/10 - I failed it, not because it was too hard to pass but because it didn't go to anything and I'm too lazy to pass it with assist tick. Top Man 3/10 - If you had sent this one to me before you submitted it, it wouldn't have sucked, because I would have told you not to make up random patterns for the 24ths wtf exige you know better. Trisection 9/10 - LMFAO THIS FILE IS SO BAD BUT I LOVE IT BAHAHAHA RANDOM JACKHAMMERS GOING TO NOTHING AWESOME I LOVE IT. Tristram 7/10 - Kind of boring but the song was cool Vanilla Extract 3/10 - I dunno if this file was just really bad or this pack is making me go insane but it definately wasn't good. Wait! 5/10 - Dumb, **** this pack Wizards and Warriors 0/10 - Uh whoever made this pack is ****ing dumb have you ever heard of quality control, I bet whoever made this pack made this simfile because there is no way somoene would really accept this in. World Revolution 2/10 - You didn't step any of the sounds you just made up notes and put them in wow that was bad. Well, actually playing this whole pack has reminded me that the quality control on KBMP was so much better than any pack after it (with the possible exception of CKBMP1 and 4) there were some really good files in here, but most were mediocre and for every good file there was one that was absolutely unplayable. Packs need to stop being unreleased only because all of kil's files are VGM pretty much and something like Gothic Neclord, Dynamite or Oracle would have destroyed every file in this pack. People need to cool it on packs and start using released files that people don't know about it instead of unreleased files by newbie step makers.
