Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
Just look at all of the channels one at a time, as well as the mixer, and figure out what everything does, and how it sounds.

SIT THE **** DOWN.

Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
Right click the volume knob next to the synth you want to fade in/fade out, and click "create automation clip". In the playlist, you can drag the line that appears up and down to change the volume for that synth at certain parts in the song.
If it's a sample, it's in the window that comes up when you click on it in the Step Sequencer. It's one of the knobs on top of the waveform at the bottom of the window. |

Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
I could have sworn I put this question out but I guess I forgot to post it. Oh well, anyways so this is a sytrus specific question. How do you control the delay on a synth? One for example that has a lot of echo is Short PWM. Would love to get rid of that

Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
Would anyone be willing to walk me through some things?
I'm basically playing around with the program, but I haven't a clue. Like, I try to make a song from scratch, and I'm sure the play list is supposed to have content in it, but there's nothing. =/ Also, I am looking for some VSTs to work with. Maybe something hardstyleish. I tried that fade in effect, but it didn't work. I also want to know if there is any way to use .mp3s? I tried converting one to .midi but it wouldn't open. I find it silly that it isn't a supported type to open/edit with. There's a lot more I need to ask, however, I feel this is enough for now.

I do that, and it doesn't play. If I click on any of the [] things, it starts the song over a couple of times in different tempos and I can't stop it. =/

you cant convert an mp3 to midi. midi is basically just a set of instructions for your computer. Mp3 is actual recorded audio data. So you cant convert an mp3 to a midi. As for using your audio in the playlist, try to not use audio in the pattern, but rather the "audio clip" section. Here, you'll see the actual waveform, and it makes it much easier for quick editing. Thats a crappy explanation of that, so if doesnt make much sense (which it probably doesnt), then i'll post again with pictures etc. -Merky

Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
Put your .mp3 file into FL Studio/Data/Packs (i think?), and then put it wherever it seems to fit, then find it in the browser bar on the left under the packs tab, and put it in as a channel, or put it into the playlist as a pattern clip.

Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
an easier way to do this, is to got o channels, then add an audio clip channel. Once your channel shows up, right click, and then select "load sample". Locate the audio file and there you go.

or just add your music folders to the browser in the file settings. that way you always have quick access and can just drag in audio.

Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
double post for legit questions
1. I know this sounds really dumb, but what is a vSTI...how does it...work? I downloaded magical 8bit to make some awesome sounds but i am totally clueless. 2. How do I make 12ths in piano roll? How do I make really complicated things like 48ths and stuff in pattern sequencer/piano roll without having to double the BPM?

Don't know if anyone's already said this, but, if humanly possible (ie: You're not doing crazy fast automation on every note), you can hit the record button and record automation and score. An example would be a simple filter cutoff on a sliced drum beat. You click record, then hit play, and turn the knob as you go. Hope that helps. |

I don't like to admit this, but since FL's help section didn't tell me, I've been trying to figure out the true function and versatility of the X-Y controller with no pleasing results.

"Damn, I really want to automate these two parameters in an interesting style. I could individually automate them, but that would sound really stoic. What I need is some kind of visually based controller." Not only can you linearly control two parameters based off X and Y, but you can even do crazy math with the X and Y values to do some really insane automation. I used this controller in Carousel Paradise. Check to make sure you are snapping to line and not step. |
