Re: TWG CLVI: The Grand TWGabout - Postgame
keep in mind that I don't have any context (didn't read teh game), but one more thing on the tokzic play:
last wolf in a pool of 10 living players claiming PR is autolose... only if you assume that the town PR always counterclaims (or dies and flips) before the end of the game. and the PR counterclaim is what caused everything to go south there. so unless the VT who's fakeclaiming manages to draw the wolfkill, that play doesn't seem to have any potential for positive effects. Re: TWG CLVI: The Grand TWGabout - Postgame
that being said, from only skimming this postgame, I'm not digging the hivemind "you're terrible" with no reasoning or "you're terrible because look at what happened when you did the thing," which is super small sample size bias. doesn't leave room for discussion.

Re: TWG CLVI: The Grand TWGabout - Postgame
I think something worth discussing is whether or not phantoms should be the same in every single game
I kind of think it should be up to the mod to decide how phantoms work (assuming they are present) in their own game, but I can see how this could end up creating confusing situations I'm not really sure which way to go on this and I would like to hear thoughts on the matter

If it's 1.1... I mean obviously if town loses due to having that handicap, it's on them, but I think this has shown that it makes a huge difference when a scenario like this game is thrown out. |

Re: TWG CLVI: The Grand TWGabout - Postgame
BUUUUUUUUT, still, someone would need to not vote 2 times in a game to have that happen, which is super rare, and they usually deserve it too for being super inactive.
I may never know what backpack was thinking that phase, but... WELP!! |

Re: TWG CLVI: The Grand TWGabout - Postgame
the following post is made with the opinion that phantoms do not serve their intended purpose
the purpose of phantoms is to punish inactivity, or at least discourage it this is supposedly done more effectively by making the downside to inactivity more severe basically, the above is a load of bullshit, because phantoms do none of that. Inactive people are going to be inactive. Maybe town gets an insta off 1 minute before the deadline to avoid phantoms, but that's really the only case where gameplay is changed because of phantoms, I think. You do have a point with what you're saying, but even with the extra vote, players are still penalized by having an extra vote on them, and while, statistically speaking, its more likely to be a detriment to town than a detriment to wolves, its an incredibly rare case either way. Even in games where phantoms aren't on, you should still be voting at least once a phase because it gives town more info later, but I suppose I'm preaching a different point now. What I'm getting at in a very roundabout way is, I think phantoms are meant to punish inactivity, and in order for this (completely moot) function to happen, a large punishment is required.

I think there was some interest in jTWG, so I will talk to some people tomorrow and figure out whether to run a jTWG or a turbo while waiting on the next game
I think I will be playing less TWG this semester, or at least that is my goal, as I will be focusing on school (hopefully)

I don't mind Phantoms, but I see your point.
Maybe have It so if you get so many of them over a set number of games/timeframe, you re banned for awhile? @Island: I personally would love for you to join again. |

Re: TWG CLVI: The Grand TWGabout - Postgame
@Charu I think sometimes the best solution is to do only the minimum. Trevor literally came into a game that honestly, was only in the range to be lost due to me being a fuck-nut and getting mod-killed, and won it. Like, that kind of play regardless of the correct or incorrect nature of it is worth praise.

Also, thanks AA for the concept of playing scum from freeze wars, it's helped me get MUCH MORE comfortable playing scum like, geez. I feel so much more confident instead of worrying about minor details in phrasing. Fuck do I love referencing freeze wars. Also thanks everyone else for the kind words. Was rly motivated Quote:
I was triggered. Edit: I've been struggling on if I should address this or not but it's literally bothered me since it happened. Is there a reason you didn't modkill gradiant here. I didn't say anything during the game because, honestly I feel i'm just being salty as all living fuck, but I just wanna confirm if that's the case or not. I didn't post a votecount at all that whole day (just double checked) so people didn't really have a living tally of votes available to say "oh insta is happening", so I gave some lenience on that one. If I would modkill a dominating wolf over what happened in the thread earlier, I wouldn't be afraid to kill the last town PR. The situation and circumstances were definitely different in that case. It was also an insta and not a fixed time. tbh the posts were probably ~15 seconds apart even though the timestamps say differently. |

Re: TWG CLVI: The Grand TWGabout - Postgame
That was brought up in the dead chat, think it was decided against it as he found out it was an insta a while after the last vote, and there was no recent vote count posts beforehand
