Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
oh hey now that I'm unbanned I can respond to notes
robotomy I'm just going to ask everyone who's interested in stepping it for FFR to hold off because I'm restepping it from scratch, at 254 bpm (sck 9/10 tho rofl) die winnipeg I'll probably use a cut close to alex's from odi3 and change up the patterns (this was stepped in sm editor so I'm sure I missed some stuff/used ambiguous patterns) |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
Don't worry Choof, in my experience I've found that about 70% of the time Dossar asks me to quantize something to a closer arrow, I already have it correct when I check closely. Often it's just a question of readability/weird framers on FFR. Since I err on the side of dicksyncing and Dossar errs on the side of snapping everything to a clear color, he winds up giving me that kind of note a lot :P
The annoying part is you still have to read all the notes and check everything because that 30% of the time he actually found an error is still really important to fix. So in a way Dossar at least gets you to look over your file closer when he asks you to snap the entire file to the nearest 16th. Also... Any progress?

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
Looking back on my first two charts for this game I can see and understand the complaints. Luckily, I think my new charts are significantly and progressively more accurate and enjoyable. The only huge problem with me is going to be my insistence on keeping full length songs because I really don't think 4-5 minutes is unreasonable length for a song. I understand people hate all the 3-5 minute rock songs, but I don't mind playing them at all and don't really find the length to make things as much more tedious to AAA as most people do, and I'd rather play a challenging good 4 minute long song than a mediocre 1:30 filler song from the same album (*cough*BRICKS*cough*). I think I will definitely cut The Friendly Wolf into parts in the future and restep it to be a bit more reasonable to play though. I slowed the song to 0.25 times and the buzzing sounded like it was charted properly, but I can understand that it's not fun to play and i'll do something to make the chart more enjoyable.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
also any estimation when the new batch will be judged? I know the tournament atm is more important, but I remember the last official was around the time the batches got so delayed.

The tournament and the batch are not correlative to one another. Song releases were on hold because of tournament reserves, but the batch runs independently of that. It's being worked on in the back end.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
Seriously can we know what's going on with the final list of accepted files and SAP changes?
And what's going on with a bunch of re-submits from last batch not being judged? Communication pls

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
Yeah, I'm really sorry, I know it's bad that I never said anything in this thread about that. I just didn't want to have to say that we're behind without making any progress, but ... yeah. Those two e-mails with your resubmissions were accidentally skipped over when the May/June batch was compiled, which is why AJ included them in his July/August batch image from September 7th.
I know it would be unfair for you to have to wait until the next batch though, so I uploaded them and posted links for the judges back on the 24th and mentioned it a few more times in the thread and the chat, but no one's even downloaded the files yet. Sorry, I need to be more persistent. As for the passed files, the two judges who said they would look at them both dropped out on the 2nd due to being too busy with other life things. I did post about that in the judge thread then, but I need to just ask people directly to judge things rather than wait for people to offer to help. So that's what I'm doing now. About the ratings, I'll just post what I have soon. I'm going through all the notes for accepted files and taking note of, like, unwarranted rhythmic errors noticed by multiple judges and making a conditional queue ... so we don't have things like 3/16ths misinterpreted as 12ths getting in-game again. |

I now know full well you guys are restructuring and there's a bunch of people who had to drop out unexpectedly, but I'm honestly asking more for the sake of everyone else. Not everyone talks on Skype with half the judge team on a regular basis; people deserve to know.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
Okay since there's no point in bumping the stepcon thread I'll post here:
When are we going to learn which files the 2nd and 3rd place finishers chose to queue? I know they might still be working on edits or something but can we at least learn what songs they are? I really want to step one of the songs from that tournament but I also don't want to start a file just to learn halfway through that there's already a queued file for that song.

I know that TC_Halogen said he would be using This Will Be The Day, but I don't know if t-rogdor ever communicated anything.
