lol leaving it unattended. I think it's more of a problem if the parents can't attend to their kids themselves and they have to rely on the golf club to do it for them.

Are you a COMPLETE idiot?

They left it completely exposed when it shouldn't have been - COMPLETELY IN THE WAY, IN A KIDDY POOL, WHERE ANY KID COULD SIT ON IT.

So yeah, the manufacturers SHOULD probably be the ones to blame as well for that, and yeah, the Golf Club IS at fault for hiring to get such a poorly thought out kiddy pool and not knowing what kind of danger this could have led to UNTIL it happened.

they made the mistake of leaving it uncovered, the parents made the mistake of not supervising the kid. moot lawsuit.

Yeah, cause the parents are totally supposed to think that a "harmless" kiddy pool needs supervising. Obviously not many people think they need to look after their kid when it comes to this type of stuff because they trust it, and they think it's safe when it SHOULD be.

It's the exact same if you compare the parents letting the girl go to kindergarten on her own without their supervision because they TRUST that the teacher has things under control. They thought the Club had things under control with the kiddy pool, which is exactly the same, and they didn't, so their trusting in them was in vain. :/

And like I said before, you don't see parents supervising their six-year-old kids these days when it comes to those smaller pools. Larger, deeper ones? Yeah. Why should parents be concerned about ones that are NOT supposed to be dangerous in the first place?

that's a good point but most parents i've known are generally really careful with their kids (if they're around that age) even if it is a kiddy pool. i'm sure most parents are aware of the drains too and would take some initiative in making sure they didn't cause themselves harm.

k back to not posting in chitchat this is lame

Well that's most people YOU know, but that's not like an automatic default for everyone else. Some parents are just too trustworthy or depending of others and I guess they can't help it, they were probably raised that way.

But whatever. I still think those guys should get sued.

Massflavour fails at logic.

Dude, wake up. She was on the drain for 2-3 SECONDS. You are telling me that you, as a parent, could have prevented that?

You need help.

The parents obviously never thought of that in this case. They weren't aware of the drains being too strong. I assume they never heard of a case where a pool drain pulled out intestines out of someones anus, otherwise they would have DEFINITELY been watching her the whole time and would have kept her away from the drain.

The faults here are made by both the parents, for lack of supervision, and the Golf Club, for lack of safety precautions.

Edit because I've become annoyed with postwhores:

Unless your comment is somewhat relevant to the discussion at hand or contains actual beneficial information, do not post it. If you're just going to make -witty- remark, don't post it. If you're going to explain your feelings on the situation, feel free to do so, but include the reasons why you think that. Just ask yourself this: will what I'm about to post be beneficial in any way to the thread? If not, don't post it.

I hear thousands of children die and we don't care because they don't die in an interesting way.

she jumped into the pool, the suction from the cap caught her, sucked her to the bottom of the pool, and she got pwned.

Ok yeah, read what thunderstrike said. It happened in a matter of seconds. Do you honestly think her parents could have done something when it happened THAT fast. And if I'm not mistaken, she was PULLED to the bottom as well, because she wasn't strong enough. Her parents WERE probably watching her, but at a distance. I'm not saying they weren't physically there AT ALL. I'm saying they weren't AT HER SIDE when it happened.

Wow how hard is it to regulate such an increase of pressure this would cause on the pump?

Answer: not hard at all.

Even if it is expensive the insurance costs could be reduced as incentive etc etc.
