Actually, I failed a major project at school and it was Vista's fault. I made a 30 minute video on Hinduism and spent about 36 hours making it. Then I realized, "Hey, this is in .ogg format, an open source format. Open source... hmmm, means Windows doesn't support it in any way. Microsoft hates open source." So I decided to try to convert it to any of the various proprietary formats Microsoft does support. At this time it was the night before presentation. I stayed up until 3:30, spending 6 hours trying to convert it, without success. Then [long rant about technology-clueless teacher omitted] long story short, it didn't work on the computer hooked up to the projector because it ran Vista, and Vista doesn't support OGG Theora or Vorbis out of the box, and we as students aren't allowed to download or install anything on school computers. It really sucked, because the video was 30 of our 50 minute presentation, and the other person decided to base his speech on my video instead of researching himself, without telling me. We failed the project miserably, because of Microsoft Windows Vista.

Its not vista, its your computers. Try doubling your ram, or if a desktop get a video card. I know FFR/SM do not call for a video card, but Vista does. So either spend the cash to upgrade your PC to the recommended specifications or "stop whining" Its a given fact that vista runs programs the same way as XP. You can even run programs in compatability mode back to 98. I run Vista Premium and have no lag issues. I also spent a grip on my laptop.

Example that anyone can check at their local game store: Crysis requires 2 gigs RAM to run on XP, 2.2 on Vista. Any other game also has a higher requirement for Vista than any other previous windows. Vista can't keep up with itself I guess.
