it's quite nice... your choice between DDREX, MAX2, and 5th mix, for 50 cents on all machines is like heaven

yeah it's nice when the arcades have cheap days...like the ruckers here, they have one token days where playing DDR only costs 1 token *drool* hell, where I plug in 4 just for singles and I play there ALOT. I dont remember what day it is the one token thinger though...I'm guessing friday.

Ahh yes...a raging herd of n00bs break free from their cages, and stomp away at what we call the wonderful DDREX machine. Soon, when the true players come in, the wonderful artifact of DEE-DEE-ARR is already sent to oblivion. the n00bs have won the war...

My god I make it sound like Pokémon or something :S

The thing I hate the most is when you see some kid who's been playing on light for like a year, and never gets any better, not to mention all those kids who wonder why they don't get better when they play the same set of songs everytime they go on. If I have to play Dam Darim or whatever it is with the noob crowd again, I will go postal. Newflash noobs, just because freckles is the theme song to rurouni kenshin doesn't mean you have to play it 5 times in a row.

Home, Or at the mall. The sad thing is... There's no competitions. Anywhere. Where I live. (Syracuse.) It sucks.
altairian: Agh! I've played at Crossgates! That's only about an hour away from here...

Lucky!

I get my fix at the Purdue University Student Union...they have an EXTREME machine in the basement bowling alley thing...it's the only decent thing about Lafayette, IN, I swear...

Notice that I'm NOT including my house, because I like doubles...and cheap home pads SUCK for doubles...

$.75 for 3 songs. Nothing special about it, really. But everything's unlocked, and the machine is USUALLY in pretty good shape.

And as for being n00b, I only started in Feb, but I worked at a BUNCH of songs...not just the n00b sets, and now I'm up to playing on Heavy...just not the boss songs yet...the best I have is MaxX Unlimited - Standard...I know, you can flame me now for being a n00b...

in all honesty, I guess I would be considered a noob too I guess... since I had only started in late January. Like you, I am also playing on heavy but not the extreme songs yet. Atleast we are improving greatly as we play.

Now that summer is here, I will be mostly playing at home. I used to frequent the arcade at my school which had DDR Extreme for 50 cents a game.

I see alot of noobs doing very well. I've only been playing for a year and a half, and all the vets began to think that the DDR scene was dying, but with 8th mix coming out and the final mix coming sometime, there has sprung up a new breed of noob. And they are doing and improving quite well. Of course you still have that kid who still plays on light after months just because he keeps playing the same song set. But I'd say DDR popularity is back on the rise.
